    It’s a small place but it’s not overrun by tourists and the locals were friendly. Had the best Gorgonzola from the shop on the left as you walk down to the lake from the station. We dined twice at Casa Castagna , delicious both times. Really nowhere we ate was bad . Swimming in Lake Mergozzo is a must. It really was clean and warm .

    Mergozzo is an awesome little town right on the lake. It's heavenly and super peaceful. Plenty of delicious food to devour. Lots of activities in Mergozzo or nearby. Plenty of hiking trails around. And the people are so kind and welcoming.

    Mergozzo is a beautiful old town on the edge of Lake Mergozzo. There are many amazing places to stay and have food and the most delicious ice cream is sold on the town square. There are activities on the lake such as paddle boarding, canoeing and peddle boats and you can hike several different paths from the town. It is in close proximity to Lake Maggiore which offers boat trips to its islands and has many restaurants overlooking the lake. The views are stunning.

    Its a very peaceful place, close enough to the other lakes. The restaurants were all dog friendly and the service and quality was brilliant. The old town has got cobbled streets and some very old buildings.

    We were there for a wedding so only booked a few days but I...

    We were there for a wedding so only booked a few days but I now wish we could have stayed longer to really explore the area. Mergozzo is much quieter and relaxed than Stresa and some of the other towns nearby which were too crowded and touristy for me. It's a beautiful location with several decent bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of things to do nearby.

    Really friendly staff, great location on the lakeside with beach (and its own wonderful private swimming pool), brilliant restaurant serving top quality food. Lovely breakfast which was very good value. The room was a fair size , very clean and with excellent facilities (shower etc). Rooms on the lake side are much quieter and have the best views. Easy 1km walk to the village with its restaurants and supermarket. Dog friendly (there is even a dedicated beach next to the hotel for dogs !). Lovely walks in the hills and around the lake.

    A superb holiday home in a beautiful location with very kind helpful hosts. The pool and terrace with loungers were a huge hit with everyone. The garden around the house was lush as were the views of the lake mountains and village of Mergozzo. We loved walking into town early in the morning to fetch fresh croissants from the little bakery.     The family is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it was rainy when we were there, so we were unable to fully enjoy Lago Mergozzo as we 'd hope. However, we had a great dinner at the restaurant of the hotel and enjoyed our stay very much.
