FAQs about hotels in Naples

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and funicular railways. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of visitable tunnels and even a Graeco-Roman theatre which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artefacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

As for accommodation, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city centre apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.

Naples is a very beautiful destination for a three-day trip.

Naples is a very beautiful destination for a three-day trip. You have enough time to explore the whole city and see all its monuments. A day trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius is absolutely worth it — you’ll see sights you’ll probably never experience again in your life. However, the city is quite dirty, and there doesn’t seem to be much effort from the local authorities to keep it cleaner. Finally, getting around on foot or by public transport is ideal, as there’s a lot of traffic on the roads, especially during rush hours, and drivers don’t seem to follow any traffic rules — they drive like crazy!

    We loved everything we saw.

We loved everything we saw. Just a warning about visiting places which require a lot of walking uphill ! There are railways and buses to everything so take some time to plan and take a good map and guidebook.

Naples is vibrant, hectic, chaotic in parts, but enormously atmospheric and beautiful. The traffic needs care if you are a pedestrian. The history , architecture and people are exhilarating. The art and food are amazing. Throw in Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum nearby, what more could you want? The local trains an busses make getting about easy. However, to get the most of your visit you need to do a bit of planning, especially if time is limited....there's a lot to see!!

This city is so different to any other Italian city we have visited before. It’s a bit rough round the edges and the graffiti is everywhere but look beyond that and enjoy. We met some really friendly locals, had some great food and enjoyed some amazing historical buildings. Bring some comfortable shoes and explore.

Naples is one of the few European cities I did not exactly fall in love with. It is crowded, noisy and dirty. However, they do indeed offer some of the best pizza and pasta I ever had, if you follow good recommendations. There is also great shopping: Italian fashion at very reasonable prices and I found the locals to be very kind and approachable.

Lisa was very responsive and professional. The place is in an amazing location, right in the historical centre, and the apartment is outstanding. It is so beautifully decorated, it felt like we were in a 5 star hotel! Lisa made my partner a Napoletan coffee upon arrival and was very quick to respond if we needed anything. We felt on our 2 week trip to Italy, that Lisa's place was the best. It's quiet on the street, and so clean, we felt this was a huge relief to the hustle and bustle of Napoli's streets.

We loved how everything was provided: kitchenette with all utensils, pots, and dishes, plus a dishwasher, fridge, toiletries etc. The whole building was also well made and looked aesthetically pleasing. The staff we can only connect with through WhatsApp but they are quite prompt in their reply. Overall, the best stay we've had in Italy. It's better and bigger even than the 4 stars hotel room we were at. We'll definitely stay here again!

We only stayed here one night as it was our last night in Italy before heading home. Lovely modern B&B with everything you need in the room in a prime location of walking distance to everything you need or see. The hosts were wonderful and catered our every need and even kept our bags for a few hours while we explored Naples the day of the check out because we had an evening flight. Highly recommend.

Very lovely room that came with lots of nice touches more akin to what you might expect in a high end hotel. Excellent value for money compared to other accommodation we've had in Italy. Would stay again without hesitation. Host maintained very good communication.
