It was so close to the centre of Ortisei - bus stations, cable car stations and the restaurants. I was so lucky to spend a night here the room is super spacious and clean. Great breakfast provided and the staff are super welcoming.

How should your place of stay feel at a town like Ortisei? Spotless clean, efficient, precise, great food, and picturesque. Hotel Garni Walter is all that and more. Going by Ortisei costs, it is reasonable. Its location is perfect, just a couple of hundred meters from the gondola ride up into the mountains. In the close vicinity of some of the most pristine trekking routes. Gourmet restaurants walking distance away. A marketplace that seems straight out of fairy tales. And to top it all, finger licking home baked goodies served by the host for breakfast. The parking at the hotel is a bonus. Highly recommended.

Lovely sauna and relaxation rooms which we unfortunately arrived too late to enjoy. I suggest making the most of this place and arrive early! Breakfast was superb! Way better than anywhere else we were that week. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, rashers, ham, cheese, croissants, cakes. I would go simply for the breakfast. I think we got a very good deal start of June in shoulder season.

Residence Elvis is a small family-owned hotel outside of Ortisei, just 8-10 mins away from the Alpi di Siusi lift (by car or by free bus). It was very comfy, clean, with all the things you might need for a great family stay (incl. spacious bathroom, comfy beds, heated ski room, reserved private parking, free bus tickets, free admission tickets to pool spa in Ortisei) . Lovely people in charge. Would definitely stay here again. :)

This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives.

This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives. I gave the hotel a review that reflects my honest opinion, mainly about the manager/host of the hotel. Obviously my review was not received with warmth from the hotel manager. He messaged me immediately via Whatsapp and blamed me being not polite to him, I have no idea where does this come from. I believe he has broken the golden rule of being in me the hospitality industry, if he cannot accept honest reviews, how can he improve to thrive on? The hotel itself is OK and the only problem I have is the steep climb (not the hotel's fault) and mainly the manager's manner.

Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able...

Because of the two gondolas accessible in town, we were able to explore both sides and experience a variety of terrain, none extremely challenging which worked for our various fitness levels. The views are stupendous and the convenience of the huts along the trails for lunch, a drink or even a break from the rain were fantastic. We didn't need to worry about packing snacks or lunches, and instead enjoyed reasonably priced, delicious meals along our hikes.

A lovely town in the valley with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants but also gave easy access up into the mountains via cable car/funicular. Also easy to get the bus to St Christina and Selva for other cables cars and walks. The Val Gardena mountains are simply stunning with plenty of great walking accessible from Ortesei

There is something for everyone in Ortesei and it is a...

There is something for everyone in Ortesei and it is a special family destination as well. We loved the summer climate, the cool crisp air, and the beauty of the amazing Dolomites. The restaurants were great, there was ample shopping, and the locals were warm, friendly and helpful. We did not have a car, but did not need one with the free bus system that was very efficient. The gondolas, funicular annd chair lifts took us to some great spots for hiking and the ambience in the Refugios was great!

Delightful small town with lots of ways to access hiking...

Delightful small town with lots of ways to access hiking trails / ski areas. Maybe a little less convenient to mountain bikers, but superb for everyone else. St Christina and 1-2 villages upstream may be better suited to serious bikers. Ortisei is a great gateway to the spectacular Dolomite recreational areas.

I say better than Cortina d’ Ampezzo as a base for hiking. More trailheads closeby. The town itself is more lively and the restaurant options are many. The public transport is also more efficient even if it was still off season.

The hotel is a dream. The views, the facilities, the breakfast — and the linner buffet (which was a pleasant surprise!) — were all fantastic. We loved everything about our stay. Although we had a car, the hotel provided a bus pass, which was very useful for getting to Ortisei and taking the cable car to Seceda and Alpe di Siusi. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely recommend this place!

Our room was very well appointed, it was equipped with everything we needed. We cooked some good dinners with the beautiful produce from the area. Our check in was very helpful as they gave us information about the area. The room itself was in a very central location and meticulously clean and very comfortable. We would highly recommended this hotel in Ortisei.

Great location near Ortisei. One of the hiking trails accesable from the hotel in few minutes and that trail is a great for a walk through the woods to Ortisei. Pet friendly hotel, our dog was more than welcomed. Friendly and helpfull staff, great breakfast and dinner.

Beautiful property! In between ortisei and Santa Cristina, very easy to get the bus into town and tickets are provided free by the hotel. Rooms are spacious and the wellness centre is lovely. Best breakfast we had in Italy! So so good!
