When you go to Al Barrilotto it’s like you are going home. This is a family run hotel and everyone is always happy to see you. I felt like I was at home and I just never wanted to leave. The place is outside Positano, there is a bus to take you to Positano or Giovanni will drive you in. He is so very helpful. Breakfast was awesome, lots of food, very attentive and with an amazing view. Room had a great balcony again with a great view. And there was a roof top terrace as well!

The staff at Casa Guadagno were extremely friendly, helpful and flexible during our check-in and check-out and communicated with us beforehand to ensure a smooth arrival. The room had a lovely terrace/balcony with a sea view. The room was compact but had all items you might need for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and the small fridge was a life saved during the hot June weather. We enjoyed the breakfast in the main area which was part of our rate. The B&B is a bit hard to find due to winding Positano streets and alleyways, but once you find it, it's a walking distance to all major places in Positano. On the top of this, the B&B is a 5 min walk to the Fornillo Spiaggia (beach) which is quieter than the main Positano Spiaggia.

    Positano was fantastic.

Positano was fantastic. We enjoyed great restaurants and shopping. The incredible views will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. We had easy access to boats heading to Capri, which is a “must add” trip you should fit in to your plans. The beach’s are loaded with stone and you must have water shoes to get into the water. We were always at ease with the relaxing vibe that surrounded us. My wife and I will strongly recommend Positano to anyone thinking of heading that way. It is truly magical. Our 2 best meals were at “The Mediterrano” and “ La Taglia, we enjoyed them both equally.

We enjoyed our stay in Positano very much. I would suggest not staying there in August. This summer was very hot and combined with so many tourists, it was overwhelming at times. A person needs to be in fairly good shape to navigate the hills and stairs of the city.

Picturesque town, but realize that unless staying right in town center, sooner or later you will have to face lot of steps up /downhill. Taxi drivers have colluded to charge exorbitant flat fees for even the shortest drive. The port is not protected from rough seas, so in case of stormy weather, access by sea may not be possible.

Positano is a very pretty town and part of a beautiful dramatic coastline. It is well worth spending extra money to have a holiday there, it is expensive but beautiful. We ate at Chez Black on the seafront and the food and service were excellent. We also ate at L’escolia at the other end of the beach and that was beautiful overlooking the sea. We hired a private boat with Skipper Simon from Positano Boats and went around Capri island, calling at Nerano for lunch at Maria Grazia restaurant which was arranged for us by Simon, plus a couple of swimming stops and grotto sites. That was very enjoyable. You need to be aware of steps and slopes around Positano but people are always willing to help.

We stayed in the deluxe suite, the room was spotless and cool with AC. The view was unreal. We drank coffee on the terrace and watched the boats every morning. Positano is all stairs but you're so close to the beach in this property that the stairs feel manageable even after a day in the sun. Maryse is delightful and has great recommendations - we ate at Max on her advice and it was the best meal of the whole two weeks we were in Italy. It's a wonderful place to stay.
