I could and should’ve stayed another day as this would have...
I could and should’ve stayed another day as this would have allowed me the boar tour to La Sciara del Fuoco to see the eruptions. The volcano is the highlight of this island of course and it really gives it a special energy. The port and the “lungomare” - coastline - could do with a bit of work; they could be nicer and especially the port is not optimal for the volatile weather conditions, which makes it really difficult for smaller boats to dock and get people on and off the boat. I walked the island and it can be done - just have proper walking shoes and prepare for some elevation, but again, I’m not very fit and could do it. My visit was actually for a shamanic journey, savouring the energy of the island and I would do it again, just hopefully with less rowdy yachters around! I do hope to visit again and see Ginostra and the eruptions from closer. Who knows, maybe even a lighter hike…Guest review byVesnaSlovenia - 10.0
Visiting Stromboli was the highlight of our trip to Sicily.
Visiting Stromboli was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. Watching the volcano erupt at night is unique experience. I know many people who have visitet Sicily but no one has come to Stromboli. Too bad for them. Climb Sciara dei fuoco to see the eruptions. Of coure you have to be used to walking, but it"s not too bad. The garden is just beautiful, and the bungalow we rented was nicely decorated. Ivana and Franco are wonderful hosts, very friendly and well-informed. The beach is 150 m away, and the village is a 10 min walk.
