Everything was great. Location - after spending 6 nights in Como I am absolutely positive that it would be difficult to find a better location in Como. Staff - everyone was just fantastic - helpful, attentive and professional. Special thanks to Nicoletta for her professionalism and hospitality. Room - nice and spacy. Breakfast was very tasty. We absolutely loved our stay at **Il Belvedere in Torno** — it was pure magic from start to finish. The beauty of the hotel and the little harbour of Torno took our breath away. We were a group of friends visiting Lake Como for the first time, and we couldn’t have landed in a better place. The location of Torno is one of the most beautiful spots on the lake — nestled in a narrower passage that still offers breathtaking, wide-ranging views of both the water and the surrounding mountains. It feels peaceful and authentic, yet close to everything. The hotel is family-owned, as is the neighbouring one, and that personal touch shines through in everything. Everyone we met — from the owners themselves to their close-knit team — was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, arranging everything from a fantastic wine tasting to great local recommendations for hikes and activities. The hotel feels brand new — elegant, fresh, and perfectly maintained. Our room had a lovely terrace with stunning views over the lake, and it was spacious and beautifully designed. On our first day, we did the classic Lake Como boat trip to Bellagio, and on the second we hiked directly from the hotel on a wonderful two-hour loop around Torno, finishing with a delicious lunch by the harbour. It was everything we hoped for and more. We left with full hearts and unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to the family who runs Il Belvedere — you truly made our weekend something special. We can’t wait to come back!

It's a charming small village on the shore of Lake Como, 6-7...

It's a charming small village on the shore of Lake Como, 6-7 km to Como city. There are some restaurants and cafeterias close to the port, where you could catch the boat to Como. However, most of the places were closed on Sunday, or were working until 21:30-22:00, so don't be late for dinner. There were tourists, but most of the people we met, looked like locals.

The town is beautiful and the people are kind and friendly. It's difficult to get a car to the bottom of the hill by the water because the road is stepped, but the hotel sent a jeep to bring luggage (and people who needed it) to the hotel and back to the main road on arrival and departure. Buses and Taxis are available from the main road as well. There is a ferry in the center of town that was convenient for getting to other places on Lake Como. We ate at Il Belvedere, Il Vapore and Bar Italia and the food and service were wonderful at all of these places.

Beautiful, idyllic place.

Beautiful, idyllic place. There is a ferry station and two bus stations. It looks like there are not many tourists, more locals, I would say. There are not many restaurants though, so to eat, you would probably have to go to Como.

Torno is a small town on the shore of lake Como close to the city of Como itself. It can be reached easily from Como by ferry or bus, although the ferry seems to be more reliable. Torno is small and picturesque which makes it a perfect place for a quiet base from where to visit the rest of the lake. There are few options where one can have a drink or dinner, but they are all great. Right next to the small harbour of Torno, which is also where the ferry stop and the church are, there are 3 restaurants of varying price levels and elegance. Know that the taking ferries around Como is, while pleasant, quite time consuming. Also, since Torno is a small stop, not all ferries stop there. If you want to spend a more time around Bellagio or Varenna, you either have to leave by 16:15 to take a (slow) direct boat back to Torno or take the fast ship to Como at 18:30 and then one of the last small ships from Como to Torno (This option is faster than the direct ship). In any case, you will be having dinner in Torno as restaurants are closed between 15:00 and 18:00. Thankfully, for a short stay, Torno has something good to offer for every budget!

Torno is lovely for a short stay, but dining options are limited in the evening, and it's very hilly - not for the unfit or unsteady! It is a small village, very pretty little harbour area where the ferry stops, and there are two bars and several restaurants around there. There is also the Ristorante Glavitj further up the village which looks like it was last decorated in the 80's, but the view and the food MORE than make up for it! Best meal we had in Torno. The cafe next to the pharmacy did lovely pastries and coffee in the morning - we went every day. They also sell the bus tickets which you must have before you get on the bus! If you are visiting Lake Como in 2022 be aware that the Lake Como ferry that brings you from town to town insist on you wearing an FFP mask to board the ferry. Then everyone takes them off - it's bizarre. Personally I would have preferred to be in a bigger town with more dining options and a bit more going on, but if you are looking for a quiet, scenic few days and nights with easy access to other spots on the lake by bus and ferry, Torno is lovely.

not all the 4 star hotels keep this level of standards, a brand new, family owned hotel that the owner himself was very thoughtful, hands on but not in your face. i noticed very delicate things they were aware of and caring for that you cannot see even in 5 star hotels. to me it was so obvious that they care about what they do. Silvia in the reception, was very friendly and helpful. we enjoyed our time there.

The view of the lake from our hotel was absolutely stunning and we loved sitting out on our balcony admiring it. Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and I had my fish filleted by the waiter on a trolly beside our table. We arrived by car and there were plenty of parking spaces.

Can’t even describe how beautiful this hotel is. The location, the view from the bedrooms, it’s just breathtaking! The staff is really nice and helpful. The breakfast is really tasty with lots of of choices (and a beautiful view as well) And their restaurant is as well so tasty with an extensive wine list. I would LOVE to come back there.

Four nights at this wonderful hotel was the perfect start to our tour of Italy. Our hosts and the entire staff were friendly and helpful. Fabulous location with views of the lake from our beautiful room, which had a small balcony. The breakfast was delicious as was dinner. Only a short walk to the ferry.
