Don't be put off by the outside appearance, the interior is far superior to how it looks from outside ! Stayed overnight waiting for our ferry booking to Sicily (Hotel is less than 5 minutes from embarking point), really friendly staff (Son & Owner), beautifully renovated reception & rooms although the exterior does need a lot of TLC. Lift is very antiquated & the hotel staff tend to operate it for you as they know how to kick it/bang it to keep it going, novel ! As an overnight stop on the way to Sicily, we have no complaints, as a stop for a multi day holiday.

The seafront area is really nice, with a great view across to Sicily and the Straits of Messina. We didn't find a lot of dining options down there, but there are apparently a couple of good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The traffic, as in all Italian towns and cities, is pretty frantic, and parking isn't easy at all, but it's worth a visit/stop en route to the ferry for Sicily, as it has quite a nice atmosphere and outlook.

Villa San Giovanni is a place of transit.

Villa San Giovanni is a place of transit. It is very small, not very pretty and when we were there, the "lungo mare" was still under construction. Villa San Giovanni is perfect as a base to go to another place, as the trains are well connected and easy but don't expect something from the city itself.

Everything was superb! Franziska made our stay truly unique with her warm and professional hospitality. The room was big, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The view from the balcony was simply breathtaking – a real highlight. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with good variety. Overall, we felt very welcome and well taken care of, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and pleasant stay.

Great spot for an overnight stopover before catching the train from V. San Giovanni. Location is only about 5 mins walk from the station, a well appointed kitchen in the hotel itself with enough to make a simple breakfast before heading off. Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful too!

Nice hotel located in the centre of the town close to the ferry port, 10 minutes by car. Spotless and clean room. For those who want to stay in the room, relaxing and beautiful views of Sicily from the balcony. Secure parking onsite and also garage available.
