The hotel really paid off every penny we spent for it, from the check-in process, parking, pillows, hot tub, staff, services and especially breakfast, which contains so many options that we can't even explore all. We love the convenient location where we can basically walk to all places we need to go, will definitely stay for the next time.

Very good room. Excellent facilities with onsen at the last floor and a lot of amenities such as free ice cream and midnight ramen. Breakfast with a good variety of dishes. Staff very nice and helpful, they forwarded my luggage to the next hotel for me. The bus to Asahi-dake is just in front of the hotel.

9 C felt like a home away from home from the moment you stepped in the hotel. This was just a stop over stay for us but we immediately wished we could stay longer. The staff were super helpful and friendly and there were so many details thought about around the property to help make your time there more comfortable. There was also plenty of showers and toilets on each level, so you never had to wait for amenities. The property is located a street back from the train station and there’s plenty of eateries located a short walk from 9C.

The room was spacious and very clean! Also, the position of the hotel is excellent, because is literally on the side of Asahikawa station and the buses for Asahikawa airport and Sapporo stop in front of the hotel entrance. Plus, on the other side of the street there is a big shopping mall with everything you can need (there is a cinema too). However, even if my room had the window on the main street, it was very quiet! Also, the receptionists were very kind and professional!

    We loved Asahikawa, a very fun little city with a huge...

    We loved Asahikawa, a very fun little city with a huge variety of bars and restaurants, easy access to local ski resorts, lots to see and do, and just a really fun, friendly vibe. Was a nice change after the hectic pace of Niseko. We will return next year and give ourselves a bit more time to have a really good look around (could do with 7 nights - our stay was 4 nights). Enjoyed the bonus of the winter festival being on during our stay, with spectacular ice sculptures the whole length of the main street, plus a big festival zone with activities, a huge ice stage, and dozens of food vans. We will be back for sure.

    Loved the smaller village vibe.

    Loved the smaller village vibe. As my second trip to japan i was intentionally trying to escape the tourist areas and english speakers / english content. Finally found it in Asahikawa. It's the size of city where you still have services not the best and presence of other languages really starts to fall off. The ice festival was clearly the main attraction here and i mis timed my stay not staying over the weekend when it really kicks off. The zoo is the other main attraction with very little english content and a fun penguin walk, though i had a very busy crowd when i went. There are a lot of museums though none, that interested me but it's not my cup of tea. So to each their own. The commercial street had tons of decoration for the festival which was super fun as well as an ice sculpting competition which i also missed 😅. Transport is well supplied in terms of access. Being a smaller town though, schedules start to be important to plan. You might get more chances around rush hour but outside of that you may end up waiting an hour if you miss that bus / train. I was only there a couple of days, but loved the vibe and ambiance. Much less touristy, less to do obviously, more rural and much closer to japanese culture. I crossed a fox, proof wildlife still exists in this town. Hopefully this doesn't frighten anyone, we live in a world with wildlife. Nothing made me happier than seeing this in the evening with beautiful fluffy falling snow. For me it's right up there as a highlight of my trip, right next to Niseko United for less than 20% of the price.

    This is an excellent winter location - lots of snow, lots of ski opportunities at nearby resorts and towns. We were there during the amazing world ice-sculpture competition which was beautifully lit at night , and also an ice rink is set up in the square for day and night skating.

    Had a great time at Asahikawa as it was easily accessible to other attractions in Furano and Arashiyama Zoo. Wished could have stayed longer to cover more attractions. All in all it was a very relaxing and layback city.

    My wife wants to see the penguins, so we went there.

    My wife wants to see the penguins, so we went there. Then she want to see the winter festival, so we went there. Well, I just want to get to where it is cold enough to practice my bioenergy methods. so I am okay with those plans. Other than that, there really isn't much to see in Asahikawa.

    One of the good things about Asahikawa is that it is a good base for exploring the northern parts of Hokkaido. In our case it provided access to Asahidake, the flower farms of Biei and Furano. Though we didn't have much time to enjoy the autumn colors of the rest of Daisetsuzan National park, Asahikawa provided us a good take-off point as we headed to Wakkanai.

    The staff was kind enough to let me check in 30 minutes earlier than the usual check-in time of 3 pm. It was the first time I encountered this, which is quite rare for all the many trips I made to Japan. Hands down to the receptionist didn't get her name, but thank you as it was snowing that day. The location was great just across the JR Asahikawa station. Great value for money. I will book this hotel again in my next visit.

    One of the best value for money hotels i've ever stayed at - and this does not imply that the facilities felt cheap at all! Everything felt premium, the facilities were knew, bed was super comfortable, bathroom and shower were huge compared to Japanese standards and the smart TV was great. Location is right in front of Asahikawa station and a shopping street so food and shopping all close by.

    The hotel is located 5 minutes from Asahikawa train station. The bus stop for Asahiyama Zoo is not far. Tokiwa Park is easily reachable on foot, it’s only 20 minutes walk away. The common area is VERY cosy. There is also a small space where it is possible to store the luggage. The bar offers both hot drinks and also alcoholic drinks as well as some small food options (sweets).

    Lovely apartment in the house owned by a lovely couple. Their garden is so beautiful! They were very nice with us and even gave us some firework sparklers for our children to enjoy, since there were fireworks going on in Asahikawa that evening.
