Great location across the road from a station on the line out to Narita airport. Excellent value as we each got a small meal for dinner and a breakfast with the reservation. Both meals came with a free drink. We also each got a free cocktail, beer or soft drink on arrival and ice cream. Staff were friendly and used a translation app to communicate with us which was helpful. Large bathroom and it was all very clean when we stayed (all rooms are cleaned daily from 12 until 5pm so you must leave during those times but you can leave your luggage). This is a love hotel but it is perfect for couples. We would stay again and it would be a good option at either the start or end of your trip to Tokyo if flying at Narita Airport. Supermarket, convenience store and a mall nearby.

Funabashi is a perfect slice of genuine Japan.

Funabashi is a perfect slice of genuine Japan. The people there were so kind, and it was a perfect place to see what the lives of the Japanese people are really like. It didn't feel sterilized and curated, it felt genuine. I met the most amazing people on earth there, and it was a joy to wander through the narrow streets of Funabashi seeing different aspects of their culture and city. The people there were very kind and helpful, so if I was ever lost or just wanted to talk it was not hard to find someone who would help. The Funabashi Daijingu felt very spiritual to me, and I truly believe it is a holy place. I was awestruck, and was moved to tears. There were lots of places to eat the local dishes, even an Okinawa-style Izakaya which is my favorite place on earth. If you go there tell the bartender Teddy says hi!

To be honest, I found it a bit of a hassle to check the route every time I moved, as there wasn't a centralized location for sightseeing. During my two-day stay, I went alone to Chiba Zoo, Hans Christian Andersen Park, ZOZO Marine Stadium, and the Ichikawa City Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Museum. There aren't any flashy tourist spots, but it's not a bad destination for a casual short trip. This trip gave me the opportunity to feel closer to Chiba, a place that is both close and far away to me. Next time I stay in Chiba Prefecture, I'd like to come with friends or family.
