Toyoko inn Gotemba Ekimae is a lovely budget business hotel located just outside the Gotemba station . The quaint hotel provides compact rooms with a working table and a small bathroom. The breakfast spread is not elaborate but provides for a sufficient morning meal . There is a coffee maker in the lobby where u can have coffee any time . There is ice vending machine and a microwave for use in the lobby . Also located are coin operated washing machines . There are free shuttle buses available for the Gotemba outlets which makes it convincing for those using this as a base fo shopping . Being located outside the station , all public transport is available at a 100 distance . Buses towards Kawaguchiko and Hakone run frequently from here It is a clean and well kept hotel with friendly staff I would surely recommend this place .

I have stayed here twice now, very convenient for the Highway exit and entrance. Hotel is clean and still quite new. For the price it's very good I think. Breakfast is good and staff are professional. Has its own parking right in front. Bed is comfortable and big.

This accommodation is much more than my expectation for this price. It locates just next to the SA which means convenient to get on or get off the high way. The facility looks pretty new with enough parking lots. Breakfast is simple but various enough choices and drinks. The lettuce and orange I had were pretty fresh. I stayed single room with my 2 yr old son and it was good enough. The room was tidy with modern hardware. Personally, I would definitely come back for one night stopby and I would like to rate it as 10 points generally. (My last rated 10-point hotel was and only Intercontinental SIngapore ) P.S: Some people complain that there were many people with tattoos on Google Review though. I didn't see if there are any impropriate issues in the first place. I guess why many people with tattoos might be they are truck drivers since the hotel locates just opposite the Service Area?

The outlets have always been raved about, but they're just high-end shopping outlets that you could find anywhere. It's not unique to Japan and was a bit of a waste of our time. Otherwise, Gotemba is the perfect area overlooking Fuji, and we love returning every year! Rembrandt Premium Hotel is by far the highlight for us with their meals and stay.

Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical.

Everything about Gotemba is excellent and magical. Gotemba is one of the most significant epicenters for adventure and sightseeing in all of Japan. It is of course an exceptional gateway to hiking and adventuring on Mount Fuji using the Gotemba, Subashiri and Fujinomiya 5th Station traiheads. Hakone-Yumoto onsens/spas and Lake Ashi are also right in the area. Free shuttle buses offer a 20 minute ride straight to the Famous Gotemba Outlets if shopping for 15 hours is what you are in the mood for. Don't forget Odawara Castle just down the way or Fuji-Q and the Fuji Speedway just up the way, to name a few. Gotemba ROCKS! Mount Fuji and the Osunabashiri descending trail are really the #1 world class attraction among many. Furthermore, all the special local people who support all the vast Gotemba opportunities are the best and truly loved.

We came to Gotemba because we wanted a base from which to...

We came to Gotemba because we wanted a base from which to climb Fuji and the hotels offered an onsen which was far more reasonable that some of the other hotels in area. There is a bus that runs from the train station to the 5th station where you can start your climb - just make sure you exit the station on the right side! (left as you come up the stairs from the trains) Most useful if you've got a car otherwise I think I'd have stayed elsewhere

We found the hotel was easy to locate and noticed several...

We found the hotel was easy to locate and noticed several signs with the hotel and the distance (kilometers) to the hotel. Hotel parking area was conveniently located near the elevators and with good lighting. We found a great yakiniku place within a 10 min. drive from the hotel and saw many other options for places to eat. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful on explaining the hotel facilities. If we stayed for more than one night we would have been interested if there were places within walking distance of the hotel.

I lived there for 7 months 3 years and some change ago, but with COVID-19, the city has taken a big hit. Tourists were there, but not as many as before. The places I'd recommend to eat at before are no longer there, too. If you're considering coming to Gotemba, thoroughly do your research and partake of neighboring cities like Mishima, Numazu, Hakone, and Odawara.

I specifically set aside a day for Gotemba during this trip...

I specifically set aside a day for Gotemba during this trip to Japan because of its huge outlet mall. There's a free shuttle bus from the outlet mall to Gotemba Station/bus station, running every 15-20 minutes until 8 PM, which is very convenient. The outlet mall not only sells a wide variety of high-end and mid-range goods, but also offers a wide range of excellent dining options. However, accommodation near the outlet mall is extremely limited; most options are either very expensive or consist of private dorm rooms separated by curtains, similar to youth hostels. I couldn't find a suitable hotel near Gotemba Station/bus station either, and the bus service to Gotemba is infrequent, requiring a 10-minute walk or more from the hotel to the station. There might be suitable hotels, but they weren't listed on Booking.com or Ctrip.

Fantastically landscaped property that is very near to the Gotemba Premium Outlet Mall. Property was quite spread out and the property area is quite big with different buildings. They have on-site onsen bath. Room is very spacious with a nice view of Mount Fuji
