Hamamatsu is a small industrial city located about halfway between Kyoto and Tokyo. It has a number of industrial tourism sites - Suzuki Plaza, esp., and music-related sites - Yamaha Innovation Road and the Musical Instrument Museum. There are a number of Jazz- and Classical-music festivals in the fall, and that is a good time to visit. Lake Hamana is beautiful, and there are a number of interesting temples, shrines, and historical sites like the small but beautiful Hamamatsu Castle. Before checking in ,in Grand Mercure Hotel,me& my family got the chance to visit the Flower Park near the hotel.The view ( diff.flowers )was great& stress free.The cool & good weather & nature refreshes us.We we’re able to ride in a boat 🛥️ for an amount of¥700 per head & it was fun.Went to the roof top of the tower . We booked two rooms, the front desk is nice, and they have four car parks at the back door, arrival earlier can book these car parks. The room size is OK, but my room's toilet has a poor smell, I need to go to another room for the toilet, but it looks quite clean. Have no idea about this smell. I was here for work, so I did not have time for visiting properly, but I have been here several times, so I know it a bit. There is not much to see, as it is a small town, compared to Tokyo, Osaka or Sendai, but it has its positive aspects. Located between Tokyo and Kyoto, it is a good starting point for visiting these cities, as well as Nagoya, Shizuoka, or the Izu peninsula. It is famous for being the hometown of Yamaha and Suzuki, and you can visit the Museum of Musical Instruments as well as the Suzuki museum, an unexpectedly interesting spot. It is the centre for the production of eels (unagi) and you can taste them deliciously prepared. Very close to the Hamamatsu shinkansen station. This hotel was a nice cheaper option that's still closer to Nagoya where the hotels are quite expensive.
