The spacious room has a great view of the sea, the bridges and the buildings on the opposite coastline. One can even see the drawbridge being opened and closed from the room window. It was a luxury to be able to sit in the room and enjoy the outside view any time of the day. Was even able to see the sunset. Breakfast was generous in terms of choices and quality. If seated near the windows, one can even see the morning sky and the sea view while eating breakfast.

The old hotel, but with Sharm. We had room with a view and it was amazing. Staff 1000% so professional and old school, I just didn't find anywhere else that amazing staff as in Shimonoseki and we visit many places. We were in love with this city.

We booked this hotel for it's amazing position and incredible views (day/night) of the Kanmon Bridge and the very busy Kanmon shipping lanes. It's about 4km from the Shimonoseki train station and a taxi is required to get here from the town/station area. The taxi from the station will cost about Yen2300. Our room on the 5th floor was huge by Japanese standards and had a balcony to sit and view the constant shipping chugging against the massive currents. The staff here were really friendly and attentive. There are no shops or kombini near the hotel but there is a small/basic shop in the hotel and vending machines on some of the floors. Would stay again for sure.

A cozy, very well furnished hotel just out of reach of the main port and a short walk from the nearby station and ferry terminal. Wonderful and friendly staff, effective rooms with all the amenities you'll need, complete with a friendly and flavourful restaurant, a manga library and very powerful and free laundry. A great stay. The staff here were really friendly and attentive. There are no shops or kombini near the hotel but there is a small/basic shop in the hotel and vending machines on some of the floors. Would stay again for sure.
