The staff was awesome!

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

I took a two-day, one-night trip to Maizuru City.

I took a two-day, one-night trip to Maizuru City. I bought fresh oysters and scallops at the seafood market, but the sea urchins were too expensive at 7,000 yen per boat. Prices at the market are relatively high. I enjoyed the historic buildings at Maizuru Red Brick Park. At the port, I was able to see a Self-Defense Force battleship. I also saw an Aegis destroyer. I wanted to take a sightseeing boat, but it was full of tourists so I decided not to. Under certain conditions, you can bring pets, including small dogs, on board. Maizuru City, where you can enjoy nature, history, and delicious seafood, is a recommended travel destination for families.

You can also learn about history at the Repatriation Memorial Hall and the Red Brick Museum. You can also savor fresh seafood. Personally, I was glad to be able to get a modern translation of the Navy Cooking Techniques Reference Book. (There is a restaurant where you can enjoy recreated dishes. It's a little far from the Red Brick Park, so if you're interested, look for it. The cabbage rolls are excellent. I also recommend the pork chops. It's not pork ketchup. The interior and atmosphere are also very nice.) It takes less than an hour to get to Amanohashidate, so during peak tourist season, you might be able to find a more reasonable price if you focus on sightseeing in Amanohashidate and stay overnight in Maizuru.

We enjoyed the area around the Red Brick Warehouse.

We enjoyed the area around the Red Brick Warehouse. Fans of the Self-Defense Forces' Navy will be delighted by the cruise. My husband was as excited as a child. The traditional shopping districts in both the east and west Maizuru areas were deserted. However, there are two new cafes in East Maizuru. The cafe at the Red Brick Warehouse was very good. Neither of us likes seafood, but seafood fans will enjoy the markets. Be careful in West Maizuru, as there aren't many convenience stores or supermarkets near the station. Apparently, the shops frequented by locals are far from the station in both the east and west areas, so I think it's best to go by car.
