While waiting for the shuttle bus to pick us up in Jomo Kogen, we got suggestion from the lady officer in Information Center to visit Tsukiyono garden. We came in mid April 2025 and there are still a lot of sakura. whereever you shoot your camera, the result of the photo is amazing. there is also a small grocery that serve udon/ramen as well. I bought a watermelon in that grocery and the lady in Udon stall lend me her knife to cut it. the watermelon is very small, compared to what I used to eat in Indonesia, but this minakami watermelon is very juicy and its flesh is so thick yet tender.Guest review byLilyIndonesia - 10.0
Amazing picturesque location!
Amazing picturesque location! Mineral water was natural and wonderful. Be prepared to sleep on a futon on the floor, but other than that very comfortable. People are very nice anyways in Japan, but the staff here was particularly helpful and accommodating. Free shuttle bus from Jomo-Kogen was a real plus which enabled us to get there from Tokyo via Shinkansen. Wish we could have stayed longer!Guest review byIraUnited States - 10.0

Thank you super nice lady at the front desk who greeting me upon arrival and during all my stay which make me feel welcome. The mountain view of the outdoor onsen, the snow falling down, was incredible. Very good food quality and hospitality of serving staff. Great place for skiing.
Great place for skiing. We tried Houdaigi Ski area and Minakami kogen200 ski resort. Both were excellent. Houdaigi is just a ski area with a restaurant and gift shops. The ski slopes are good. Minakami kogen200 is a hotel with attached ski area, which makes it a ski resort I guess. It's hard to find vegetarian or vegan food in these areas though.Guest review bySrivatsaJapan - 8.0

Very old town, many of the restaurants and shops were closed - probably because of COVID-19. The nature is truly beautiful there, huge mountains, lots of natural water and flowers. There are also many hiking trails that can be a bit tricky to find but it's definitely worth it to do some research about the area.Guest review byErikaJapan

Micasa is a good place to have a first contact with Ryokans as there are not too many guestrooms and the hosts are soo welcoming. The onsen were usable in a private setting which made this another good place for first contacts with Japanese experiences. All in all this has been a memorable highlight of our visit to Japan and a core memory will remain the farewell by the staff member. We appreciated the hotel's shuttle bus pickup service, a 40 minutes ride from main bullet train stations. We enjoyed 4 outdoor onsen (3 mixed, 1 for female only) in a magnificient snowy landscapes, a typical Japanese room though a bit old, and delicious, various and esthetic meal.
