Location was great, walking distance from morioka train station and super near kaiunbashi bridge. Room was clean, staff were nice and the toilet was huge with a bath tub. 7-11 was right on the 1st floor outside the hotel.

10-15mins walk from the main Morioka JR station but a close walk towards the Ishiwazakura and Morioka Castle Ruins. Dormy Inn always has larger than usual rooms. There is an onsen as well with both indoor and outdoor areas with ice pops avaliable with manga to read after a soak in the onsen.

I absolutely loved it! The best hotel staff I stayed with on my trip. They stored our luggage before check-in and also helped with shipping it to our next destination. Always smiling and incredibly friendly. I was sad I only stayed a few nights. The city is amazing too. The hotel's location is super walkable from the station and main tourist attractions. The hotel is beautiful and has a spacious reception area.

We chose this hotel because it is next to Morioka station. When we arrived we realised it was actually adjoining which was a bonus. The hotel is very new and modern and exceptionally clean. We noticed that there was a section of rooms for female guests only with separate security access. Value for money given the location and facilities was fantastic.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and great amenities mainly being the free onsen for guests. We didn't get to try the breakfast but enjoyed the cool vibes of the adjoining bar at the reception area. Also very convenient having a coin washer and dryer available to use.

Only had 1 and a half days in Morioka. We visited the Morioka Handicrafts Village. We enjoyed having lunch there too! The amount of crafters today was less when we visited 12 years ago but we still had a great time there!

Morioka is apparently famous for different types of locally produced noodles. I ate at two different restaurants, both were tasty with the usual exemplary Japanese customer service. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from if that is your thing. Morioka is a pleasant spot with mountain views from the central city. I visited in winter there are a few nearby skifields. I imagine it would be gorgeous in spring and autumn.

Morioka has some really charming sights and locations.

Morioka has some really charming sights and locations. Make time for the History Museum, the 2nd floor is 300 Yen entry fee but well worth the price. The walk through the gardens around the castle museums is also lovely. There are some good shops in the Fezan mall that is in the station building.

We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko.

We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko. It is a small Japanese city with stunning views of Mt Iwate. Our main purpose was to visit friends, so we didn't do much touring, but Morioka is a lovely smaller city, very walkable, with an active city centre of restaurants and many interesting temples. It almost feels like a mini Kyoto while driving around. We enjoyed Wanko Soba, which is famous in Morioka.

I go to Morioka every month or two, while it's a city it doesn't have the crowded or bustling feel. You're also close to nature. The botanical gardens and lake are a short drive as well as Mt. Iwate for climbing. Morioka is also a go-to for Wanko Soba. I've never had a bad meal in Morioka. Overall, Morioka is a good vertical slice of Tohoku and different from the image of Tokyo that saturates people's view of Japan.

It's a Japanese business hotel. If you've been to one, you probably know the deal. The lobby is actually quite nice, but the rooms are your standard, small affair with everything you'd expect to find. The laundry facilities were appreciated a couple of weeks into my trip and the staff were very friendly. It's near the centre of Morioka, so you're within walking distance of everything you'd want to get to. It hit all my expectations.

The hotel is very clean. We had separate shower/bath which was great. we had a lovely view to the river. It’s very easy to get to the hotel from Morioka Station. The laundry usage was available from the TV so was easy to get that sorted (without going to check to see if any machine was available) 7/11 is attached to the hotel for convenience too.
