Great quality for the price. Room was large and clean. Japanese breakfast was great with rice, miso soup, multiple small dishes, coffee and tea. Reception helped me with luggage transfer to the final destination in nachikatsuura.

A traditional Japanese farm-house transformed into a welcoming guest house by the skill of the owners Giovanni and Yutaka. We stayed two nights and were treated to amazing food: Giovanni is a chef and he prepared the most delicious evening meal, featuring produce from his farm: delicious goat cheese, fresh vegetables and delectable fresh pasta hand made that day. And my favourite cake, a cheesecake, made by Yutaka, with homemade blueberry jam. What a treat :-). And talking of goats, we went with Giovanni in the morning to feed and milk his herd: beautiful white goats, with baby goats as well. A great experience we all enjoyed and especially the kids. I highly recommend this place for the charm of the house, the delicious food and the experience of living in the countryside.

Great place to stay if you’re hiking or traveling around the area. The host was super friendly, the and the room and sheets were clean. We also dug our own onsen in the river just outside - but there’s also a public outdoor onsen by the river as well as an indoor one in the minshuku. I also learned that “Minshuku” refers to a type of traditional, family-run guesthouse or lodging. Staying at a minshuku typically involves a more personal and homely experience, with the hosts often preparing homemade meals (usually Japanese-style), and the atmosphere is usually casual and friendly - I think it was all those things.
