We loved the interior decoration. The toilet was more than perfect. The smell when you get into the Lobby was a great pleasure. The smiling and kind staff. The facade of the building. Amazing! The location: only 4 mins walking from the station. Plenty of space plus washing machine and a kitchen-aid. We had a super great stay Thank you!

Uji is not really a city, but a grey suburb of Kyoto.

Uji is not really a city, but a grey suburb of Kyoto. The accommodation Uji Tea Inn is located in a cozy old and narrow street, but far from Uji's two train stations, and it is somewhat difficult to get to Kyoto's attractions by train. There are many restaurants nearby, but not many breathing holes. Uji is - typical for Japan - very densely built up.

The traditional teahouses had a lovely atmosphere. I was thrilled to see volunteers cleaning up the town. However, it was a shame that, despite being a Japanese World Heritage Site, there were also some houses and buildings here and there that were not very Japanese. I think that, like in Europe, buildings that are inappropriate for a town with Japanese historical heritage should be banned. If the number of apartment buildings and small, prefabricated houses left to real estate agents continues to increase, the town's value as a World Heritage Site will decline, and ultimately visitors will stop coming.

I like the location which is quite near to JR Uji Station and Byōdo-in Temple. They have all the basic amenities and clean. Very responsive and helpful owner via digital channel. Allow luggage storage with lock but will be good to have English instructions. Provide car and bicycle rental to roam around places nearby. Plus point with free laundry.

One of, if not the cleanest hotel i have ever been to! On purpose i say hotel because this is next level hostel! So clean, so nice, lady at the front was super welcoming and nice! The futon bed was so comfy! Easy 15/10 all day long!!

Cozy small hostel in Uji. Quietly located a little away from the major attractions. Stay here, if you would like a little less overcrowded atmosphere. Kyoto, Nara and can be reached in less than half an hour. Friendly staff.
