AustraliaStaff were very helpful, although I don't think they spoke much English. There's a noodle place that's part of the business which made for a nice dinner, although isn't listed on Google maps. I had a single room which was comfy and warm. Very clean, building looks brand new, comfy lounge that also functions as a co-working area. Soundproofing was bad to nonexistent but I found it wasn't an issue during my stay. They also give you a free voucher to a local onsen roughly a 10 minute walk away, I used it and the onsen was very nice.

JapanAlthough the aftermath of the 2024 earthquake is still very present, Kuroshima is gradually reviving. One example is this guest house. The host is quite pleasant, and the amenities are excellent. Obviously, the location is the cherry on top.

This time, I went to a restaurant called Ayuto.
This time, I went to a restaurant called Ayuto. However, the food in Wajima is delicious and reasonably priced. There are also many attractions, such as the nearby morning market and the Senmaida rice terraces a little further away. I also think the area around the Wajima morning market is a great place for tourists to spend time, as it is easy to walk around and toilets are well maintained. It is not as crowded as Kanazawa, and there is a traditional public bath, so walking around the town is enjoyable. I would like to go again.

Individual tourists who are not part of a group tour or have...
Individual tourists who are not part of a group tour or have their own car, but travel by train and express bus, seem to have a hard time enjoying sightseeing. There was no information about local buses or tourist taxis (anywhere to be seen), so I quickly returned to Kanazawa, feeling lonely. I don't want to be mean, but the staff at Wajima Marine Town were hard to get along with. The atmosphere of the town as a whole and the shopping district and other facilities were impressive, and it was clear that a lot of money and effort had been put into them, but I think they need to improve their hospitality to accommodate the diverse needs of visitors.
