This was the most exceptional hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was pure luxury. The booking was half board which included not only an incredible buffet breakfast but a seven course dinner of Japanese food. The onsen was available almost all day and was a welcome part of each evening before dinner. The staff were incredibly helpful with all of my questions and always had information to hand knowing that most travellers were there to visit the trails. The hotel has a wonderful cafe in the lobby where you can enjoy fresh bakes with coffee. All in all an incredible experience. An added bonus is its proximity to the ferry and the bus stops in front of the hotel.

An amazing place to stay for a vacation in Yakushima. The location is spectacular with a sea view, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The owners of the hotel are charming and help with everything we need, they helped us perfectly in preparing the visit to the island. The cottage had everything we wanted and needed, so did the grounds and service provided. The property had washing machines with detergent and vending machines with snacks, heatable meals and drinks. Our room was clean and well-equipped with a little kitchen, nice toilet and a tv. The porch had a nice relaxing area with a bench and even a hammock you can hang up yourself. The owner is very conscientious and considerate, he’s thought of everything! There’s even a massager in the room if you are hiking as well as a foldable drying rack (with a place to hang it). He also helped us to book a car last minute and is always very responsive even when not around on the property. Highly recommend. :)
