Ahmet from Hillside Karakol speaks perfect english, provided a lot of advice regarding restaurants and transfers and allowed us to leave our car on premise during our 6 day trek along the Ak Suu Traverse. Availability of washing machine and dryer was also appreciated.

Most of the receptionists and managers spoke good English. Generally the staff was communicating well either with their phones, or by relying on another English-speaking colleague. We booked very late (about 2am) and arrived around 4:30am, we did not notify the Hotel, but the security guard let us in and the receptionist appeared after a few minutes too. The very big plus was, that in the morning I asked the receptionist to put away some food for us for breakfast, as because of our late arrival, probably we will sleep well past the breakfast time, and it would be nice if we could eat something. Many hotels don't help in this case, or just do the minimum, but not Hotel Karagat! When we woke up and called the reception, they delivered a lot of different food and a good amount too! It was very nice to be treated like this. The hotel has free parking, and they don't discriminate based on the car you drive (we rolled in with an old Moskvich). They found it interesting that we came all the way with a car like that :) The staff also helped us with different requests and answered questions too (like where to eat and what to see). The room, and the hotel in general was clean, smell nice, taken care of. All in all, I am very satisfied.

Wonderful feel and experience being at old aged heritage of soviet era, including people and hospitality as the owner herself ensures every comfort and safety of visitors. Greenery and the Arboriculture around with unique flora & fauna arguments true natural beauty, give a peace of mind. Clean natural spring at the edges indeed attracts a lot. Overall, it was a overwhelming experience being in the contrast of nature with all modern amenities. We recommend every nature lovers to visit, it's a worth, and with full value of money.

Everything was beautiful. We love the hospitality of every single person working there. The rooms are clean and cozy, the breakfast very tasty with a lot to choose from. They have good knowledge about everything and helped us to get information for our hike. The area is very quiet but close to everything you need. We would come back anytime and we wanna say thank you for everything!

This is the best place to stay in Karakol. The family is so helpful und welcoming and made us really feel like we‘re part of the family. Everything is perfectly clean. Rooms are big and beds are comfortable. Perfect breakfast. 100% recommend to stay there.
