We didn't go to Siem Reap for Siem Reap.

We didn't go to Siem Reap for Siem Reap. I think almost everyone goes there for the temples nearby. The Angkor complex is unique in the world so I think is worth the visit . Town is nothing special and mostly where to base from for the temples around. Cheap stays, eats, drinks. APOPO demining rat centre and landmine museum worth the visits.

So much history, and the people are charming!

So much history, and the people are charming! We spent six days in the area and could easily have stayed another week. Siem Reap was one of our favorite areas on our 28-day trip in Southeast Asia. The Siem Reap area has not yet fully recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the tourism industry is still struggling. Local tour operators are operating at approximately 25% of their pre-COVID-19 tour levels, and many are struggling in the current economic environment. Don't let the border situation between Cambodia and Thailand deter you from visiting. The problems are limited to a small border area and are easily avoided. The area is safe and there are so many temples to visit -- not just Angkor Watt.

We all have a place that resonates with us. Siem Reap is ours. Instantly connected with the place on arrival. Great energy, great food, great people. We've been to many places but this sits at the top so far.

Siem Reap is a destination that captures the heart and...

Siem Reap is a destination that captures the heart and imagination of every traveler. Best known as the gateway to the majestic Angkor Wat, this vibrant town offers far more than ancient temples. From sunrise over Angkor’s stone towers to the colorful bustle of the Old Market, Siem Reap blends history, culture, and charm in unforgettable ways. The locals are warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a story. Food lovers will delight in the rich flavors of Khmer cuisine, while adventurers can explore floating villages, rice paddies, and hidden jungle temples. The city’s creative energy shines through its art galleries, boutique hotels, and lively night markets. Whether you're cycling through temple ruins, enjoying a traditional Apsara dance performance, or simply sipping coffee by the riverside, Siem Reap invites you to slow down and soak in its magic. It’s a place where the past and present coexist beautifully, offering moments of reflection, discovery, and joy. For anyone seeking a soulful journey filled with wonder, Siem Reap is a destination that deserves a top spot on your travel list. Come for the temples, stay for the people, and leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

The best location in Siem Reap, just minutes walk from central square and my favourite sauna and ice-cold bath, the river is also a short walk away with my favourite vegan restaurant. The room is so spacious. The service is excellent. Khmer hospitality is here. This hotel has become my favourite in Siem Reap since I am coming back. Breakfast has good variety on the menu. This hotel is classy. Design of the lobby is also amazing with some big desk and a coffee shop. It has also a swimming pool. Rooms are very clean.

Siem Reap is the jewel of Cambodia. The Urban from the Stay Nature is a new hotel in Siem Reap and meets the needs of the conscious traveller looking for an authentic experience in the boutique hotel category. Tom, the hotel manager, is a genuine hospitality professional. All the staff are a credit to the hotel and are working exceptionally hard to take care of you in the best possible way. The hotel is stylish, friendly and has a great chilled vibe. I loved staying at this hotel; they have a bright future ahead.

This hotel is based on a wonderful ethos- training young, poor, Cambodians to work in the hospitality industry. And what an excellent result! I've never met such smiley, polite, funny hotel staff before. Hello 👋 Lida. Two gin and tonics please! The breakfasts are chosen from a delicious menu and first rate. The hotel itself is lovely, not 5 star but really comfortable, clean, modern rooms. Please stay here. One $1 gets you a tuk tuk into the centre of town- about 5 minutes.
