The staff at the reception was so friendly and helpful they asked the Chef in the kitchen to make pancakes for my daughter (just for her) although it was not on the menu, because we arrived late for breakfast and she was sad she missed the pancakes! They also ordered taxi for us to and from hotel because our phone was not functional outside of the hotel! Highly recommend!

First, UY ticked all important must-haves. Room was clean, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. Basic appliances wer available, with a smart tv (so you can connect your netflix). Bathroom was nice, with a very good shower which had strong water pressure even at very hot (this alone makes for a 10). Our floor had a washing machine and a dryer! Second, there are a lot of small quality of life details that UY has. The bathroom has a small drying rack fixed to the wall, for instance, making washing clothes very viable and easy. The floor has heating, etc. The check-in and check-out system is very easy as well. The staff is responsive and kind. Third, the location is really good, close to the main pedestrian areas. There is a nice 24/7 restaurant with Kazakh food 100m down the road. Furthermore, for any tours to the lakes/canyons etc. given they usually first go north of the city center to join the road, UY is (I assume - sample size = 1) among the last to be picked up and the first to get off, which is a definite plus.
