YOU MUST STAY HERE...The family that own this homestay couldn't have been more welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. Upon arrival we were handed a cold refreshing drink while the rottweiler introduced himself. Ive been travelling 6 weeks in Asia now and quite frankly this gentle giant made me feel at home very quickly. The daughter helping with my travelling plug issue and connecting me to WiFi, she was simply keen to please in any way. The family's English was amazing and probably the best ive experienced in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious with a huge bowl of fruit followed by eggs,tomatoes and some thick tiger bread with butter and jam. Jug of coffee much welcomed. If I needed something I felt like it was never too much trouble. Location is so close to the beach but feels like the jungle from my room balcony. Within 5min walking distance you have a pub with roof top ideal for watching sunsets called Beauty Coral Bar. A restaurant within the homestay so you dont even need to leave to get food. Another restaurant 5mins up the road called Simple Restaurant if you fancy a change. Clean spacious rooms with good air con,ceiling fan and I love the shower and toilet also very clean and spacious. The whole place from the restaurant to my room,the family and Location I LOVED IT SO much I had to stay another night. So from England Kent to Sunnys Homestay I send you my thanks and my love for everything you did for me.

Excellent location. It’s right on the beach. Our room was on ground floor and the balcony door opened straight to the beach. The beach is very less crowded and you can chill and relax with your loved one without any disturbance. The owners (Chathu and Ishaan) are very cordial and they helped us with everything. They also gave me their Kayak and I had a good fun taking kayak to the ocean. Breakfast is hugeeee and delicious. Wi-fi : is Available. The router was located just outside our room and we enjoyed strong wifi even on beach. 10/10. Totally recommended of you are looking for a serene beach villa with an extremely helpful owners and staff. Rooms: Spacious and cleaned. They provide electric kettle and 3-4 towels in room. Safety: Totally safe. Staff is very helpful. It feels like home. Walkability: 1 km from Ambalangoda bus stand and market. Zero metres from beach 😃 Food & drinks: Delicious and hugeee breakfast. There is a lot of variety and it seems you are having brunch (breakfast + lunch). Mrs.Chathu was so kind. She arranged fish and eggs for my wife on request.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The place itself is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the authentic atmosphere of the area. A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

Everything we needed was found in this small but busy town, just north of Galle it's easily reached from Columbo or the airport using the highway. Mask carving is a big deal in Ambalangoda, there are quite a few shops and museums and having a tour in a museum was ideal to find out what the different types of mask are about.

Compared to Hikkaduwa, Ambalangoda is smaller, has fewer tourists, felt more authentic. Easy to move around in a TukTuk. We mostly dined at Villa La Kurmba, great food! Also, make sure not miss Wallama Villa & Beach Restaurant - a true and hidden gem, ideal for a peaceful evening with unforgettable food.

Amblalangoda is a great place to visit and location not to be missed while in Sri Lanka. This is where I grew up and will visit each and every time I come back. Located near the ocean, filled with culture & friendly people Great variety of food to enjoy Easy access from Colombo via freeway

Ambalagoda is a lively little town.

Ambalagoda is a lively little town. When we ate out, we took a tuk-tuk to Hikkaduwa, where there are many fish restaurants. You can get around a lot by tuk-tuk. The beaches are generally very nice, but the hotels could do more, for example, by providing sun loungers with shade.

Clean air conditioning room with all basic facilities. Very close to a super clean uncrowded beach. There are many places around to visit . Mask museum is 2 minute walk from SAGA HOME. Madu river safari, turtle hatchery and temples with amazing wood carving are must visits in Ambalangoda. There is a washing machine , which is free to use. The kitchen has all needed equipment including a microwave refrigerator and gas stove.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. great first stop in Sri Lanka. doubting if something will top this. the view is stunning, people are so nice, speak good English and provide all the service you need. the apartment looks in our view better than on the pictures, authentic and spacious. we stay with our child of almost 2, great place for such a journey as well.
