The staff were awesome. Very hospitable and the food was outstanding. Ayurvedic (Sri Lankan medicine) massage therapy provided by their sister organization (next door) to me and my husband was also very good (Gabaa arranged this). Gabaa is a very customer focused resort. Will visit with the whole family next time.

Accommodation in nature and absolute privacy. The owner and staff do their job 100% to make you feel like you're in a bubble. Big compliments to the chef. The accommodation has only 7 rooms so you are guaranteed privacy. There are monkeys and peacocks in the garden. I recommend it. We go to Sri Lanka often and we will definitely come back here.

A Peaceful Retreat in Nature – Highly Recommended! My girlfriend and I had an incredible stay at Elephant Fence Habarana Villa. The serene atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings made it the perfect getaway. The villa itself was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. They helped us plan activities in the area, and their knowledge of the local wildlife and culture was impressive. The location is ideal—close to the attractions of Habarana, yet peaceful and private. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying our morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the lush greenery. Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

There are loads to do in Habarana.

There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

Our best stay in Sri Lanka. The host was like a guide, he organized our stay in Habarana - Ritigala, Traditional Village with lunch and Pidurangala (view of Sigiriya) for sunset, with transport (tuk tuks), breakfast and dinner all combined in one day!!! We did nothing, he made all the bookings. 😍 All was in good prices. The food made in homestay was very diverse, local, so tasty. We also did safari next day and saw many elephants. 😊 Jeewa and his family are lovely. Highly recommended in Habarana!!!

Lovely friendly family run resort with characterful tree houses and a great pool set in a peaceful garden. Breakfast was delicious and generous. We had one evening meal there and enjoyed it. There are lots of options nearby to eat and the town of Habarana has several food shops, grocers and bakery. The hosts were extremely helpful and fixed several trips in the area for us, as well as our transfer to our next location.

Just loved this hotel, staff and the area. Could not fault it. Staff so helpful in reception, restaurant and manager. Lovely room, tasty foods - we are from the uk but love sri lankan cuisine. We organised our tours through hotel reception. Saw so many elephants at local safari. Sometimes you want to pick out certain staff excelling in their work - all work hard and strive well as a team.

Staff was really friendly. Habarana city is really central to go to Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla or get into a safari. The hotel arranged a tuktuk for us that was much cheaper than the Pick me App, and the driver was lovely despite his approximate English.
