Leel's Safari Cottage is much more than just accommodation. It's hard to explain how well we were welcomed by Leel and his family. The attention to detail, where nothing is lacking for their guests. An incredible accommodation, well looked after, thought out down to the smallest detail. As hosts in our country we are quite demanding and critical of the accommodations where we usually stay, but here, a rating of 10 is not enough. It exceeded all expectations and it's good to realize that here, welcoming guests is more than just a business. It's done from the heart. I can only recommend that you leave your entire experience in Leel's hands, from the meals to the safari. Leel, thank you very much for welcoming us so well.

Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

Could not be happier with our stay at Wild Lake Side!!!! Run by such a beautiful couple who make you feel right at home. The cabins are gorgeous and immaculately clean. Being able to watch the turtles, birds and even little crocodiles from the balcony was truly a treat and made you really feel immersed in nature. The food was also a highlight for us - best Kottu we had on our entire trip! We only stayed 2 nights as we were in Udawalawe for a safari but would have easily stayed longer. We absolutely will stay here again if we find ourselves in Udawalawe again in the future!

A true paradise – the perfect place to relax! Our stay at this villa was absolutely exceptional. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home – the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive. One day I wasn’t feeling well, and the owner personally brought me medicine. Thanks to his care, I felt better right away – such kindness truly touched me. The villa itself is stunning – surrounded by nature, with a private and very clean pool that was perfect for relaxing at any time of day. The room and bathroom were pure luxury: spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless. The daily breakfasts were delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere of the place allowed us to truly unwind – body and soul. This is one of those places you simply don’t want to leave.
