What a wonderful place and a great adventure. We love the location, the little house is super clean, no mosquitoes and the best natural swimming pool. The food is amazing and the owners very sweet and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it to the moon and back. Highly recommended. Also the organized guided tours delivered more than we could hope for.

😊🫶 This is my favourite accommodation in sri lanka. I had arrived tired and with all my clothes wet, and I found lovely people who helped me dry everything , and a beautiful and clean room, and a delicious meal (really every meal was soooo delicious!). Saman helped me organise a tour in the rainforest and it has been amazing l. Also the view of the room is very nice, you really are in the nature. This place was beyond my expectations and everything was perfect 👌👌👌

The whole experience was amazing. From the warm welcom through the beautiful room with great view. And Hemel , the owner that is a gifted guide to the rainforest. So kind and nice and at the same time knowlagble and quick to spot every living thing. They are a young couple with a little girl that own and run this amazing g place. If you are looking for a quiet and cozy retreat right at the edge of the Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve, this is the place for you! You can literally watch wildlife, like the purple faced Monkey, white Monkeys and countless birds - right from the balcony. While the lodge is simple, it has everything that is needed for a simple stay. It offers a spacious bathroom with warm water shower, a big bed plus a third smaller one. Everything is held clean upon request by the owners, including a laundry service. The owners deserve a special mention! Such friendly, helpful and welcoming people. Often times we felt like part of a family instead of just customers. The food (traditional Sri Lankan cuisine or western cuisine) is delicious and prepared and presented with love. The owners also take “special requests” if you want to dive deeper into Sri Lankan cuisine, like Kithul Raa (Sweet Palm Wine), home grown Manioka Mallum (Cassava root with Coconut) and probably much more. Another special praise we want to give is to Ruan, a guide provided by the owners, for visiting Sinharaja protected area. While his price might seem rather high, it is totally worth it. He has deep knowledge and can show you some secrets of the forest. And did I mention that the rental price is more than reasonable? All in all, we were 100% happy with our stay at Sunshine Forest Lodge, would love to visit again and would recommend a stay to everyone visiting the area.

I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

The location is superb. Quiet, in the middle of nature with birds and monkeys. The natural pool nearby (50m) is refreshing. Also villagers and workers from the tea plantations will come for a swim and cooling down. Host Ravindra is very attentive and looks after you if you have questions. He has a friend who is a good driver for transfer to the next or previous location, very good service as the cabin is quite remote.
