Our stay at Mallara Rest Safari was truly incredible! If you're a nature lover, this place is an absolute must-visit. Babi and his staff are exceptionally hospitable, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The accommodation itself is beautifully designed, blending perfectly with its surroundings. Right next to the property, we saw various animals passing by—during the day, water buffaloes and stunning birds, and at night, even elephants! The food was absolutely delicious, adding to the overall experience. Staying in the treehouse was magical—it allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in nature, listening to the soothing sounds of wildlife at night, which felt almost meditative. Babi also took us to explore different local spots, showing us breathtaking views and beautiful scenery that we wouldn't have found on our own. We also arranged a safari nearby, exploring the nearby Yala Block 5 and 6, where we were lucky enough to see leopards, elephants, and a variety of other animals. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable nature getaway!

Good environment At night you can various animals sound because this is thick ungle area. Early morning you can vast typeof birds and their songs specially peacock. You can see somany peacocks around the hotel. Very mind relax. You dont feel any stress. Their meel also very good vilage type. Rooms comfortable excellent .like 5* hotel.

Friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Organised our safari for us, made special meals for my fussy eater kids and were just awesome in every way. Do yourselves a favour and stay and this beautiful hotel. They will do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay. This place is magic. Absolute paradise! Madu and his staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our safari was well organised and Madu made sure we were well looked after. The food was superb and eating outside overlooking the lake during the evening was bliss. The hotel was without a doubt the best accomodation we have stayed at until now in Sri Lanka. The design is spot on. The layout of our “penthouse” was very well thought out and an excellent place to wind down after dinner. We have payed much more for other accomodations throughout our stay here that don’t even come close. The whole experience is almost a bonus on top of our Sri Lankan adventure. As for the safari, our very competent driver Dulita who we named Dr Dolittle took us on an unforgettable safari. We saw leopard, elephant, mongoose, monkeys, monitor lizards, crocs and countless beautiful birds. His spotting skills were second to none. A trip to remember for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Room was spacious and clean. The pool was also a nice touch. The staff were friendly and very helpful and organised the Yala safari for us through the hotel. Highly recommend for anyone coming to the area.

The host was wonderful! She welcomed us with tea and fresh pineapple juice, and even offered us a free tour of the lake, where we got to see a variety of animals. She also organized an amazing safari for us — many thanks to her friend, the driver, who gave us a truly wow experience! Highly recommended!

It was really nice. The surroundings of the hotel were amazing, the owner explained everything so we didn’t miss a thing. We walked around the both lakes near the hotel and saw crocodiles, all kind of birds, etc. the property es super clean and they serve you coffee and tea whenever you want. The owner and his family were really kind, it shows how much they care a about everyone having a good stance. Really friendly, we really liked talking with them. Also no words for the amazing food they cooked. Really nice experience.

This is set in the most beautiful area! Right near a lagoon with so much wildlife as well as nearby local villages. The owner was so helpful and did everything he could to make our stay the best! His wife cooked a brilliant sri Lankan meal for us, including Buffalo curd for desert, which was delicious. He organized a great safari for us at Yala. He also took us out for a tour for about 2 hours around the local area and showed us local wildlife and other important parts, which was amazing! So pretty! This was a small cost and so worth it! If we had time, we would have stayed longer. Beds comfortable, rooms beautiful, lovely balcony at the front of the property. It's one of our favorite stays!

Big room with well working AC, big bathroom, mosquito net and balcony. All very clean and cared for. The host is just lovely and helps with everything. All in all, I felt very welcome and very comfortable. Would definitely book again.
