The staff was very friendly and helped us to book a taxi to Sigiriya without any hassle. The rooms are well equipped and very clean. Best shower that we had during our 4 months journey through India and Sri Lanka! And the towels smell soo good. The location of the hotel couldnt be better: close to the beach and restaurants but far away enough to not be disturbed by the railway noise.

Silva received us at 5am. He made wonderful Sri Lankan omelettes and string hoppers. He served us tea in the afternoon. We felt very much cared for. Benjamin and his wife were telling us where we could go in addition to our own program. It was a great place to be.

It’s a newly opened place. Nice pool and clean rooms. Staff were great. Especially Shafraz & the guy with glasses who was very helpful and always smiling and greeting. Overall good experience and good value for money. Close to the beach.

Rooms were really spacious and beautifully decorated to maintain a period charm with all mod cons. Breakfast was amazing, and staff so friendly. It was bonus having a chance to meet with Christophe the owner, there is no doubt this is a passion, thats why everything is so perfect. Ohh and the pool was a delight and the sun beds probably the most comfortable sun beds ever.

Despite some misunderstandings caused by credit card charges through the bank, the hotel manager, Mr. Kariyawasam remained professional and kind in handling the situation. The staff were also very friendly, and the facilities were modern and well-maintained. Overall, if I were to recommend a place to stay in the area, Viluxey City Hotel would undoubtedly be my top choice.

We absolutely loved our stay at 50 By The Sea — the ocean view was nothing short of spectacular! 🌊✨ I could’ve easily stayed in bed all day just soaking in the peaceful sea view right from our room. The property felt like a hidden gem — private, secure, and so serene. We really appreciated the strict security and privacy; it made us feel safe and completely at ease throughout our stay. Although it’s located slightly away from the city centre, it wasn’t a problem at all — getting around was super easy (and affordable!) with TukTuk via PickMe. If we ever come back to Colombo, we’d still stay here again in a heartbeat. 🩵

Booked for one night in Colombo. Exceeded expectations for the money we paid. Very nice hosts with a beautiful villa. Room was spacious with a great balcony. Not in center of city so had to drive to get places. Would definitely recommend.
