A small exclusive hotel, with modern room (quiet A/C), nice entrance, garden and pool. Staff very helpful and nice. They organized great safari with reasonable prize to us and let us to use the pool afterwards, although the check-out time was already over. Excellent milk shakes and fresh fruit juices.

Gayan was a fantastic host and he does so much for his guests, e.g. getting you to places close to his location and pick up again, a short evening lake tour, organize different things upon requests of guests, etc. all without additional costs. Highly recommended!

We had an unforgettable experience! The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, truly deserving of a 10+. The room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The dinner that was included was absolutely delicious, and we savored every bite. We felt like we were in paradise during our stay, surrounded by beauty and tranquility. The best stay we had in our entire trip around Sri Lanka! Just can’t recommend it enough! Very clean room, big clean bathroom with hot shower and an amazing yard with lake view. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast, some of the best meals we had. Lovely host and very attentive with our needs. Hardworking staff - the results are impeccable.     Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

    This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

    We were there the first time for safari.

    We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

    The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location near the rice fields. It’s about a 10 minute walk to town which we didn’t mind. The owner organized a great safari for us and helped us a lot with using the public transport in Sri Lanka because there is very little information online. We also went to a really cool bat place the owner told us about. Also, I think the town of Tissa is a bit overlooked - it’s worth visiting even if you’re not going to do a safari

    Amazing place. The owner was super helpful. He took me from the bus stop. He even took me to a restaurant and took me back to the hotel. Everything was so comfortable. The staff was so kind. Room was the cleanest compared to other places I stayed in Sri Lanka. They arranged a very nice safari tour. They also offer free bicycle so I could explore the area a bit. Best place to stay especially if you are a solo woman traveller.

    One of our favorite hotels in Sri Lanka, we loved our staying.The room, the pool, the surroundings were just perfect.The place has such a good vibe. Lovely staff, and we had fantastic dinner and lunch the next day. They organised the safari for us twice in the morning, provided us with yummy breakfast and we had the best driver called Srimal - he is awesome. 100% recommended 😊 thank you guys!

    What a wonderful place to stay! The design of the hotel is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere. It’s super spacious, perfect for relaxing. The room was amazing, and we slept really well. The safari to Yala was also incredible. But the best part was the food—the breakfast was definitely the most delicious we had in all of Sri Lanka. We would absolutely come back! ❤️

    The best hotel we stayed at while in Sri Lanka! The bungalows were a dream! Very comfortable beds. Lovely outside space with an awesome pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even made us a breakfast box for us to take on the safari at 4:30 am. Definitely recommend for your stay at Yala!
