Great value for money. Appreciate the hospitality. I wish nothing but the best for the Art Yala team. There was a good breakfast and a lot of restaurants close by for convenience. Definitely head to the ancient temples close by. It's right next to the lake so it was very relaxing for my family.

Great accommodation in Tissa! The rooms are spacious and clean, and have a balcony with a beautiful view to rice fields. The pool is really nice. Great value for money. The owners helped organize the full day safari. Really great tour (we saw 2 leopards) with a guide that doesn’t follow the crowds and truly explores the park. The location is not super close to centre but they have bicycles we can use (just a 20min bike ride)

We experienced such emotions in Sri Lanka from the service and attitude towards customers for the first time. Clean and tidy rooms, where it is pleasant to spend time, delicious dinner and maximum support and help on any issue from the host. especially grateful for the help with the bike. Slippers, brushes, shampoos, mosquito repellent and more were nice bonuses we received. These are exactly the kind of people who care about every customer. Thank you very much and we will definitely come back more than once, at least for a delicious dinner and warm emotions.

In Sri Lanka almost everyone is friendly, open and helpful, but our host at this accommodation was truly exceptional. From the first moment we felt very welcome. We went on a tuk tuk tour together to see different animals in the surrounding area and also visited a temple with him. He showed us many beautiful and special places and explained a lot about the animals, nature, the temple and the history behind it. You could really feel how much passion and knowledge he has. We were treated to incredibly delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food in the morning and in the evening, and lunch would have been possible as well if we wanted. In short, every wish was fulfilled and we experienced and learned so many wonderful things during our stay. We are very grateful for this experience and can highly recommend this place. Thank you so much!

Everything. The place is amazing inside, very quiet and peaceful. The host is more than a beautiful person, so friendly, caring, and always responsive. I arrived yo another hotel by mistake since they have similar names and she called me to ask when I will be there. I explained to her that I got confused and I was in the wrong place and she had so much understanding about the situation and got worried that something may have happened to me. The hospitality of this place is just unique. The room was exactly as the pictures shown. Spacious, super clean, clean sheets and big bathroom, all new constructed and in perfect condition. There was a balcony with a wonderful view in the forest, coffee, a kettle, and cups to have your coffee im the morning, laundry service, food delivery at your room, and a fridge. There was hot water, very rare in Sri lanka, good water pressure, and place to hand your towels and things on the bathroom. WIFI was good, considering that you are in a Forrest and you can book the safari with them, better do it through your host they know they best guides!! Overall, it'd one of the best places I have stayed world-wide and with better quality and service from most of the 4 and 5* hotels I have been to, with a very reasonable price.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

We were there the first time for safari.

We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

Quiet hotel with a sparkling 25m pool and well kept gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was very good with sri lankan or western options. We had dinner at the restaurant one night which was also good. A 5 min walk to a Cafe, restaurant and small supermarket. We also booked our safari through the hotel and don't think the experience is any different to the ones you book online which are more expensive.

We stayed at Gaga Bees for two nights so that we could do the safari at Yala - it’s a perfect location for this. The accommodation is beautiful and well looked after. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant on site both days and the food was some of the best we have had in Sri Lanka. The staff are the best thing about the hotel - they are so friendly, kind and accommodating with anything you need. Would definitely recommend!

Very clean hotel with great food. We stayed for only one day to do a safari. The hotel ordered the safari which was great aswell. Probably the best shower we have had on our so far 1 week of travel in Sri Lanka. Staff was very friendly and helped us out with all our needs.

Beautiful room, lovely staff. Owner Madu was so lovely and went out of his way to make us feel welcome! Arranged safari. Chef at the hotel was incredible and some of the best food we had in Sri Lanka!!
