Our room (budget double room) was basic but included everything we needed, besides we loved the whole aestetic of this place. The room service was excellent. Everyday when we came back from our morning surf the room was absolutely perfect. Enrico, the owner, is lovely and fun to chat to and gave us helpful tips surrounding the area. With KOMOREBI he truely build a special place where we felt very taken care of. The two cute little kittens were the cherry on top.

Accommodation was great but even better was the common facilities. The coffee was the best I've tasted in Sri Lanker (so far) As was my chicken dinner and breakfast. The ambiance was brilliant with attention to details at every stage. LOVED the bath on the secluded open balcony with the view.

The best hotel we stayed in in Sri Lanka! 5 wonderful nights. We were welcomed by an amazing woman named Miriam with her champion staff who immediately made sure we felt at home and helped with everything we asked for. Large, clean, pampering rooms with hot water. Excellent food ,Rich and tasty breakfasts , a pool in front of the sea and a dreamy view. Thank you for a most enjoyable vacation!!!

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Shan Star! Shan couldn't have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. He went the extra mile to make sure we were happy, and just generally offered an outstanding service. This accommodation is unbeatable on price, and is the best value for money hotel we stayed in while visiting Sri Lanka. The breakfast was also great, with delicious fruit picked from the garden itself! Shan organised a great snorkelling excursion for us, which was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

This was the best hotel during our entire trip in Sri Lanka. The room was big, clean, bright, air conditioning worked very well and super comfortable bed, we finally got a good night's sleep 🙂 there was a balcony we spent evenings on. The bathroom is modern, good hot water pressure. And great wifi which is rare in Sri Lanka. Many thanks to the owner for his kindness and hospitality, we will return to this hotel on our next trip ✨

Amazing little homestay in Weligama. Room was spacious and clean, location was perfect with a 5 minute walk to the beach so great for surfers! The owner is one of the nicest people we have met in Sri Lanka, he speaks great English and is a really nice guy. Free breakfast which was very nice, a huge fruit platter every morning as well as eggs and toast. 100% recommend this place to anyone. Great value for money.
