One of the best places I've stayed. Excellent territory, arrangement, sauna, hot tub. Everything you need for a great party in a small company of friends! Great hosts who will help you with anything. My husband and I traveled with our 3.5 daughter. The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. The location is very good, right in the center of the city and walking distance from restaurants and the beautiful river. The hostess, Lauma, was very kind and available for every question we had. The locations perferctly matched my needs - I went to Melno Cepurīšu Balerija pub that evening that was nearly 200m from this place. Except the pub, it was convenient that parking near the building was offered as well, and some shops are also available in several minute walk.

Unfortunately Jelgava was completely destroyed at the end of WW2. Nothing but 5 or 6 historical buildings left. The city is all soviet built soulless block houses. Very sad and not too interesting for visiting.

Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water...

Interesting castle close to the hotel with good water activities offered on the river. Did not use public transport but had a hire car. The streets in general were well maintained and well signposted so that getting around Jelgava by car was easy.

I adored the city.

I adored the city. It is a nice mixture of historical sights and nature. The riverside and the island are wonderful and it is really nice to walk in the streets. We came by car and there were a lot of parking places. If you don't wanna walk too much, there are plenty of electric scooters too.

I couldn't say that Jelgava has a lot of attractions (...

I couldn't say that Jelgava has a lot of attractions (especially in winter during Covid, hehe), but for a short visit it was pleasant and entertaining. Ice sculptures served as a main attraction with general city illumination nicely adding to it, while a great steak served in PARKS restaurant did well to make for a complete evening.

Overall, this must be one of the best options in the whole Jelgava! + very good location in the center, but in a peaceful street + interesting building: very old from outside, very new from inside; therefore, the building has nice unique atmosphere + in the neighbouring building there is excellent cafe-bakery + when a problem appeared, a guy came quickly to help, an extremely friendly and nice character!
