Very nice Riad in the Medina of Chefchaouen. The rooms are good, also the showers. But what made it special was the way we were received by Ahmed and Mohammed. The location is great. It is close to Bab Souk where taxis drop off and pick up passengers. The room and bathroom were clean. Small space, but good value for money. The salon/café was a cozy place beautifully decorated. The breakfast was great. The rooftop has a magnificent panoramic view over the Chefchaouen Medina, even at night. Can't see the sunrise here because the mountain is in the east but still can admire the change of the color and light in the sky. I imagine it must be an enchanting view from here when the city is bathed in the glow of the setting sun, although I didn't get a chance to stay longer. The host who received us, Hossam, is warm and helpful. He contacted us prior to our arrival with information on how to get to the hotel, gave us good advice on sightseeing and restaurants, and helped us call a taxi when we leave. And we enjoyed our talk with him.

The location is good with everything within walking distance. The breakfasts on the terrace were great - I did struggle with all the Moroccan carbohydrates for breakfast though this is no reflection on Dar Hannan. The staff were super helpful and one of them even guided us to the ATM and then gave us a quick circuit of the town one day. They also organised a taxi for us to Tangier Med port which went very smoothly. I would definitely stay here again - the helpful and friendly staff were definitely a huge bonus.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this guesthouse in Chefchaouen – by far the best apartment during our 3-week trip across Morocco! The rooms are spotlessly clean, with fresh, crisp bedding and brand new fillings. The bathroom was flawless – equipped with slippers, toiletries, and a hairdryer. The interior design beautifully blends Moroccan style with European standards, offering both charm and comfort. The terrace offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains, and in the evenings you can enjoy Moroccan rosé wine and delicious appetizers – such a nice touch! The staff is extremely friendly and professional, speaking very good English. Special thanks to Hamza, who was incredibly helpful with recommendations for local attractions, things to do, and how to best enjoy the area. We initially planned to stay just one night but ended up staying for two, thanks to Hamza’s great suggestions – including a super relaxing visit to the waterfalls and a delicious local tajine for just 70 dirhams. The area is truly picturesque, and the whole experience felt authentic and welcoming. We sincerely recommend this place to anyone visiting Chefchaouen!

The Blue City was frantic and filled with tourists not...

The Blue City was frantic and filled with tourists not really interested in the Medina, i don't know how the vendors made any money, it was too crowded to stop and shop. This endless stream of overdressed self-absorbed visitors (influencers) posing for Instagram is out of control; Every place that gets on the tourist map has this plague. Parking options in the town are very limited, beware of being directed to a bad spot by parking assistants. I would not go back.

I've dreamt about visting Chefchaouen for decades. So despite the one and two-day trips so many guidebooks recommend, I stayed for 5 days to try to get a better sense of this magical place. It was well wworth it

Chefchaouen is an amazing historic city.

Chefchaouen is an amazing historic city. So much to see and do. Spend the morning on a hike and come back for the market and a tagine. I would like to have had a beer but I survived, lol. Our guide Abdul was a beautiful human being. He enriched our trip so much. His deep explanation of Ramadan was an inspiration. The solidarity with all people and the egalitarian aspects were something that I had not formerly considered. It is a bonding with all of humanity. Abdul showed us the secret spots of this ancient city and I am better for it.

Picturesque but very touristy and an excess of street vendors selling many crafts which likely come from China (are not made locally). Extremely hot when we went in July. Very important to get a decent guest house with air conditioning. 2 days is more than enough.

Yes, it's touristy, but it's so particular with all its blue buildings, in the midst of beautiful nature, that it's a must. Be prepared to climb a few hills! Favourite restaurant: The Twins in the square. Had a few good meals just people watching, and really cheap!

Gorgeous city tucked into a hillside. We enjoyed the drive from Tangier. Fabulous city for photos (all the gorgeous shades of blue!). We took a cooking class at Cafe Clock - fun, intimate and we made tons of breads an pastries. For us 1.5 days was plenty of time to explore and enjoy. It's a little bit touristy in areas but worth the visit! one of my friends thoroughly enjoyed a massage and bath at a Hamman too.

Wonderful little hotel with the absolute best view and sunset over Chefchaouene! Rooms were clean and comfortable and the rooftop patio was the highlight of our stay, we ended up doing take out dinners there while watching the sunset. The staff were all wonderful, super friendly and very helpful with tips and even helping us order take out food. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with eggs, breads, yogurts and pastries. Location was great too, not too far from the centre of the Medina but also convenient being able to drive right up to it.

The place is beautiful, really taken care of. I hope they finish the rooftop soon (it doesn't have nice views but can make a lovely outdoor chill out). Breakfast was fine for being included in such low price (coffee, bread, butter&jam, omelette, cheese). The room was very clean, including nice bedding. Found some other friendly solo travelers to chat next to the fireplace at night. I'd say it's the best budget hostel I've been to in Morocco.

It was my first time staying in such a unique Riad. I was warmly welcomed by the manager and team. The beautiful sunset view from the balcony was accompanied by the delicious tagine. I also met Mr.Pablo and his wife in the morning and listened to his beautiful guitar singing, So amazing，We made the right choice to stay in Dar Zambra. It made our holiday in Morocco the most memorable one. We will definitely be back. Thank you 🙏

The hotel is located near one of the most beautiful streets with lots of little souvenir shops and photogenic locations. The hotel had all we needed inside and the breakfast was very good, unless you are on a gluten-free diet (in which case I advise to pack your own food to Morocco - they eat bread and pancakes for breakfast 🍞).
