As female travellers we felt safe in Marrakech.

As female travellers we felt safe in Marrakech. We wore clothes which covered shoulders / thighs in respect of muslim culture. Other women wore much more revealing clothing and did not appear to attract unwanted attention. The Bahia Palace and Secret Garden were welcome respite from the heat and sun as well as interesting places to see the restoration of traditional architecture. The souks were an assualt on the senses - keep your wits about you as you are navigating narrow passages while dodging people, products, bicycles, motorbikes, carts and mules. We were vigilent re: personal possessions, but I didn't feel at particular risk of theft, harm. Haggling is definitely expected, and while sellers are diligent in their trade, they mostly accepted polite refusals if we were genuinely not interested in making a purchase.

Our trip to Marrakech was such a memorable experience for me...

Our trip to Marrakech was such a memorable experience for me and my husband! We truly enjoyed every moment - from the magical hot air balloon ride at sunrise with breathtaking views, to the fun camel ride that gave us a real taste of Moroccan culture. The buggy ride added so much adventure and excitement to our trip, and of course, the food was absolutely delicious with its rich flavors and spices. We also loved taking in the beautiful scenery everywhere - from the vibrant souks and historic sites to the peaceful desert landscapes. Overall, Marrakech gave us the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation, and it was such a special trip to share together.

Staying at Adi Hostel was unforgettable.

Staying at Adi Hostel was unforgettable. Hidden in the Medina’s maze, just steps from Jemaa el-Fna, it’s the perfect mix of authentic Marrakech and comfort. The riad-style design is stunning — colorful tiles, peaceful courtyards, and a rooftop with breathtaking views of the city and Atlas Mountains. Everything is spotless, the rooms are cozy, and the breakfast with mint tea is the best start to the day. But what makes it truly special is the staff — warm, welcoming, and always ready to guide you through Marrakech’s magic. For travelers who want both energy and calm, Adi Hostel is the place to be.

The highlights of Marrakech for me are the Sahara Desert, discovering ancient fossils, learning about argan oil, admiring beautiful carpets, and seeing firsthand the hard work women put in to contribute to society. I also highly recommend visiting the gardens and the palace. Highlight that taxi drivers are really good.

    Marrakech has a great vibe.

Marrakech has a great vibe. It was a lot easier to navigate our way around than we expected, and far less hassle from shopkeepers and restauranters than we expected. People were friendly and fun. We took a tour on day one, which helped - as we became familiar with major sights and this made it so much easier when we went exploring the next day by ourselves. Driving was fine - we've driven from Tarifa to Marrakech via Meknes and El Jadida. The traffic and drivers were not nearly as crazy as we had been led to believe - or maybe New Zealand drivers are of the same style!

I loved the show in safron restaurant and the vibe in kabana . The motorcycles were frightening at the beginning but we got used to it . It was wonderful to see so many different people and cultures. I really enjoyed the horse and carriage tour around the area .

When you first walk into the building it is grand and impressive but the rest of the hotel is a disappointment, certainly not a 5 star or 4 star even hotel. At breakfast some birds flew into the room and were eating from the buffet, staff didn’t do anything about this.

The staff made the hotel the best part of my stay in Morocco, we stayed at a “5 star” for 6 days and only two days to be closer to the centre at Tempoo honestly even though Tempoo has less facilities and is slightly on the old side the experience was the best

Wanted a location within city to taste culture rather than a generic 4/5 star hotel. Succeeded in spades. Muhammad and staff lovely. Beds large and comfy. Dining area bright and welcoming.
