Highly recommended. New, modern, furnished with love. We had personal warm welcome, owner was very friendly and nice, responded quickly when we needed something. We had car, so for us location was really good, close to beaches, hills, national park, activities, supermarke, etc. I would book it again.

The owner is a lovely lady who made my stay very easy and pleasant. She arranged for my pick up and drop off, she checked regularly on me and helped me with recommendations when I had questions about the area and my stay. In addition, she was quite lovely and we ended up having a nice chat a couple of nights, which as a woman travelling alone I found super nice. The terrace of the property was also one of the best parts. Allowed for nice breakfasts with an incredible view and the sound of birds. I hope I can return!

I liked the Cleanliness and the good organisation of the property. I liked the fact that the property was not on the main Road so there were less traffic noise caused by bus ect. Safe place with the very kind tenants living on the ground floor. Electric fence around the garden. Everything was well explained about the overall good running of the property. Good Restaurants and shopping centre in the area.

The flat is amazing, 2 bedrooms, 2 terraces with sunbeds, table and chairs, spacious living room with fully equipped kitchen and huge bathroom with a shower and a a tub. Everything is impecable clean and beautifully decorated. There is everything you could possibly need, even a washing machine... ( including first aid kit, sewing kit, hair dryer, iron...) The owner, Ursula, is very kind and friendly.. she arranged a scooter rental for us and gave us many tips. Centric location, few minutes walking from restaurants and supermarket. We loved our stay there. It was even better than we expected. :)

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

An ideal place to visit La Morne and surrounding areas without the crowds. Nearby supermarket for groceries and restaurants. We had a car which made travelling around easier and i would reccommend getting one when coming to Mauritius as you see so much more

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clear water at the beach was exelent. The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island! The surounding with the mountains are great. The beach is clean. No waist is liing around. Kite surfing ist also the place to be! Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

not a typical tourist destination. However, great spot for trips and quiet place to chill before trips around the island - which is pretty easy to travel around. Great choice for families and backpackers like myself

Bianca the owner welcomed us in the nicest way. The apartment was really good, very clean, there was everything we needed for cooking. The view from the balcony was amazing, beautiful sunsets. Bianca was very available for us on whattsapp and was super helpful! Le morne public beach is only 10 minuts by car. There are supermarkets a few minutes away, And local resteurantes in a walking distance. If you are looking for an apartment in a quiet erea which you can go from to see mauritius atractions, this is the best! Great value for money.

Amazing experience! The house was super clean and very cozy. François and Pascale thought about everything. They took me to the supermarket on my first day to buy some groceries and helped me to find a taxi for my trips in the area. They are helpful, warm and welcoming. The location is good, very quiet and peaceful. It has a small pool and you can chill in it with an amazing view in front of you. I loved the time I spent at the terrace. I will definitely choose this place for my next trip to La Gaulette!

Great location to visit Le Morne and Chamarel. Good restaurants nearby. We used public transport in Mauritius and there is a bus stop close by but we needed to rent a car for a day to enjoy Chamarel, Le Morne and the local area. Rusty Lizard recommended somewhere to rent a car for the day which we picked up at 4 30 pm which meant we went to Le Morne that afternoon and had a full day exploring Chamarel and the South West of Mauritius the following day. The pool was lovely too.

The appartement/studio is completely new and is situated in the north of La Gaulette. This is the perfect spot for a lot of advetures in the south of Mauritius. The appartement owner was available whenever we needed something. It was super clean, spacious, and we would definitely book again. The kitchen is fully equipped so its easy to cook yourself. Air conditioning is good.

Really happy to had the opportunity to stay in this appartement. It was the best accomodation we had in Mauritius. It is newly renovated and very clean. Kitchen is fully equipped, bed really comfortable and the view from the balcony is gorgeous.
