SpainWe had an amazing stay. The whole team of dive and sleep made everything easy. The room was great, with a lot of space, nice bathroom and also an outside space where we could sit in the night or let our wet clothes dry. The food was delicious, they prepared us breakfast, lunch and dinner every day with fresh ingredients and delicious fish. The dive experience was everything we could hope for and they made it very easy, with great preparation. We saw whalesharks, turtles, mantas, sting rays, white tip sharks, grey reef and many more and everything went smooth!
The whole team was very nice and helpful at all times. The island itself is a little paradise. I can 100% recommend it!

RussiaI liked both the hotel itself and its location. There was a beautiful beach nearby where you could swim and watch the sunrise. I took a hotel with breakfast included. It was prepared every morning) The manager also arranged for a transfer by speedboat to the island itself. It was very convenient: 2 hours on the road and I ended up on the island at the hotel!)

PolandOur stay at Sun Island Villa Resort was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfectly organized from the very beginning – the transfer was smooth, and just 4 hours after landing in Male, we were already transfered from International Airport, checked in and settled in our villa on Sun Island.
We were delighted that our request for an upgrade to a Sunset Deluxe Villa was accommodated upon arrival. The villa (No. 495) was right by the water – spacious, just renovated nicely designed, and impeccably clean. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean view and having direct access to the water was truly unforgettable.
The food included in the all-inclusive package was outstanding – a huge selection of dishes in the main restaurant, always fresh and well prepared. No matter your culinary preferences, there was something for everyone. An excellent à la carte restaurants (we were at thai and italian restaurants and both are highly recommend).
A lot of additional activities was a fantastic bonus – from diving and water sports to excursions, gym and spa treatments, there was never a dull moment. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable and luxurious.

We were greeted at the ferry terminal and taken to our accommodation where we received a welcome drink and cold towels to freshen up with..
Rai introduced the island to us, explained the different excursions that they could offer and arrange for us and send us a great deal of information via WhatsApp so that we could read and digest at our leisure.
The reception area and the courtyard which really double as the dining area and social area is immaculate.
Well maintained in terms of the foliage, we understand that there was a lot of mosquitoes last year and having spoken to returning guests we know that the number is now significantly reduced. What was nice though is the fact that there is anti-mosquito spray on all tables and provided in all rooms, an indication that they’re thinking about the guests and their needs.
The mosquitoes were not a problem during our stay.
After a welcome we were shown to our room which was nicely chilled. Thanks to the very efficient air conditioning unit. The bed was decorated with petals, which was a lovely touch. The room was spacious well fitted out clean and smelt fresh.
The room has a really comfortable double, with white cotton sheets and, always a bonus, two pillows per person!
Our room had a ‘ welcome’ fruit bowl, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities fresh and bottled chilled water was provided each day.
The room was serviced to a high standard every daily.
We enjoyed watching the television in our room as well as listening to the music on the television in reception area and the reels of marine life that were sometimes playing, very relaxing.
After we checked in, we were taken on a complimentary island tour which helped us to orientate ourselves to the island.

PhilippinesI have been traveling together with my girlfriend to the Maldives and we really didn't know how it's going to be on a local island. Shahid (host) is a person that sets value on good communication beforehand as well as on the trip itself. Before we came there, we chatted via WhatsApp about everything important (flights, diving license, prices etc.). That helped a lot because we felt informed all the way through. I wanted to dive, but my girlfriend cannot. So, she could stay on the boat, could do some snorkeling while I was diving. Shahid managed everything and paid much attention on us feeling good. We could ask him anything at any time. The stay at La Cabana was way better than expected because of the very personal contact to the super-friendly staff.
All in all, the staff works in a very professional way, is reliable, open-minded, funny and makes you think of cancelling your flight back. :)
We definitely would recommend staying at La Cabana. If you are looking for a family-like guesthouse offering many awesome diving and snorkeling trips, you should book here.

Bring a mosquito or any insect repellent, you will need these after a stroll on the shores or anywhere there are plants.
Also have an anti-nausea pill if you are the seasick type.
Taxis have a fixed price for each location, check that out.
Alcohol in the resorts is expensive but then again that's all you got.
Best to pay all meals or include dinner in your package as there are almost no restaurants outside, depending on the island, and if you find one it's either a chips or coffee spots.

My favorite places were snorkeling from the pier of the Italian restaurant, and the water villas we stayed in (also good for snorkelling, but the water is very shallow). We had half-board, and were so happy with the breakfast and dinner buffets that we never opted for anything extra. Getting around in Maamigli on foot was easy for us, but I understand we could have requested golf cart transportation as well. We preferred walking. I was a little concerned beforehand whether we'd be spending a fortune on drinking water (since we didn't have all-inclusive), but drinking water was provided daily by the housekeeping, so no problem at all. Next time I'll make an even bigger effort to avoid getting sunburned. We used 50 SPF sunblock and re-applied often, but lengthy snorkeling still got some of our backs.

The hotel is modest, but very good! I liked the guys, they were very friendly, all issues were resolved, for example, they changed the number without any problems, everything was great! It’s a 7-10 minute walk to the beach, there are a couple of cafes on the island, but we had dinner at one Maamliay, inexpensive and filling (for us personally). We recommend!

It is not a hotel, but small settlement with few rooms.
However - the staff was always there to help us.
Our room vas quite big, beds were comfortable.
Just the view from the room was not very impressive.
The served breakfast was very good for such small settlement.
They arrange our trip to next island.

Very beautiful rooms, close to the divecentre on Maamigili and very close to the beach.
They provide a PDF on arrival with all kind of tips for during your stay at the island.
