The island is very beautiful! The hotel staff is amazing. Make sure you go on excursions with nurse sharks and Mantas and turtles. It was awesome. If you come to Maldives and don’t swim with these amazing marine creatures it’s such a waste! I loved everything.

As far as local islands on Maldives go, this is one of my favorites! And this accommodation is just great. Right next to bikini beach, nice little courtyard, nice rooms (we were in one facing the yard), free coffee, cleaning every day,..etc. Villa is operated by Captal tourist agency, which are by far best for excursions and other stuff here. We had a wonderful time. Food in Captal restaurant is great also, especially grilled reef fish!

We had a fantastic 5-night stay at Velana Vibes on Mathiveri. Although our flight delay caused us to miss the last boat, the host Munzir kindly arranged a night in Malé at his own expense and offered to cover taxi costs – a truly generous gesture. On the island, his assistant Imma took great care of us throughout the stay – from preparing delicious breakfasts to organizing our return transfer and even lending umbrellas during rain. The guesthouse is modern, very clean, and well maintained. Our room was spacious, air-conditioned, with a private bathroom and daily cleaning. There’s a lovely shaded lounge/dining area, free use of a washing machine and a drinking water dispenser – thoughtful extras that made a big difference. The location is perfect – just a few minutes’ walk to the bikini beach, local shops, and restaurants. When we were briefly stranded on a picnic island due to a storm, Imma quickly arranged a boat to bring us back. The hosts also offered a short buggy tour around the island to introduce key spots. They provide a variety of excursions and activities too. Overall, Velana Vibes was an excellent choice – friendly hosts, great service, and a peaceful island setting. Thank you Munzir and Imma – we hope to come back!

I have been looking for cheap, simple but comfortable accommodation and I definitely found it! Ever Blue Guest House has only 4 rooms with share livingroom and also terrace dinning and kitchen which I could use. Room: comfortable bed (I like hard mattress), small fridge, TV, AC, fan, hairdryer, spacious bathroom with toilet, towels, beach towel, drying rack, daily water. What else do you wish for? Room was daily cleaned which I didn’t need. Breakfast: They always asked me what time I would like to have a breakfast and what would I like to have (I am not breakfast person plus have GF diet). I end up just with eggs and fruit but have been offered pancakes, sausages etc. Kitchen and dining area: I could use the kitchen and make my own food, coffee, tea. The great addition are also ceiling fans in dining area (they are actually everywhere) as when it’s really hot and humid this helps massively. I have to say huge thank you to the owner for helping me when weather was extremely bad and public boat was cancelled. He managed to find a private boat to take me to my next island. It was lovely to talk to him every evening and learn about his family, life on the island and much more.

I spent enjoyable time in SIS Tourist Villa, the Staff is amazing and the Guest House is highly recommended if you want to stay in Mathiveri, also for the location, near to the bikini beach. New furniture, comfy bed and spotless. All the staff make you feel like home and encounter all your needs. Also breakfast met my expectations, they offer a real maldivian breakfast - which I liked a lot - but they also provide you with the service of dinner/lunch on demand, with several choices of food/main dishes.

**Review for Aqua Heaven Inn, Maldives** I recently had the pleasure of staying at Aqua Heaven Inn, and it truly exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. They met me at the ferry station and ensured a smooth transfer to the hotel, and they even arranged a speedboat for both my arrival and departure from the airport. It was all very convenient and stress-free. I had a half-board booking, which included both breakfast and dinner. Personally, I found the food to be fantastic and just the right amount. The meals were always fresh, flavorful, and reflective of the local Maldivian cuisine. The atmosphere during meals was intimate and relaxed, often with views of the beautiful surroundings. The room itself was very comfortable. The A/C worked perfectly, keeping the room cool after a long day under the sun. The furniture and amenities were all brand new, which made my stay even more enjoyable. It was clear that the hotel prioritizes comfort and quality. Aqua Heaven Inn also offers a variety of day trips, and I highly recommend trying them out. The underwater world in this part of the Maldives is absolutely stunning, and exploring the nearby reefs was one of the highlights of my trip. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help organize the best excursions. Overall, I was incredibly happy with everything Aqua Heaven Inn had to offer. It’s a beautiful, well-run guest house with excellent service, amazing food, and unforgettable experiences. I wouldn’t hesitate to return! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable Maldivian getaway.

Mathiveri is a small, calm island with a very natural, local feel. Life moves slowly here, which makes it easy to truly rest and disconnect. The beach is just across the street and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and quiet walks. Snorkeling trips were a highlight - clear water, turtles, reef life, and respectful guides who care about the ocean. There are several water activities available, including kayaking, banana boat rides, jet ski rental, and wakeboarding behind a jet ski. If you’re looking for luxury, nightlife, or crowds, this is not the place. But if you want peace, nature, water activities, and a real island atmosphere, Mathiveri is a great choice.

Mathiveri is a small island, with plenty of good quality...

Mathiveri is a small island, with plenty of good quality accommodation and restaurants to choose from. It is one of the quieter Islands that can be accessed by speed boat, but it still offers snorkeling and diving day trips.

A Wonderful Beach Holiday.

A Wonderful Beach Holiday. Necessary structure: shops and cafes are available. The ability to pay with a bank card, as well as in cash (USD, MVR). Good exchange rate in all places. I was pleased with both Mathiveri and Mathiveri Finholu: the beaches are clean, the sand does not burn your feet, and there is a comfortable "coolness" in the shade of the trees.

Too much garbage on the island.

Too much garbage on the island. I also saw a sewage pipe releasing waste into the sea just off the beach which looked like human excrement...also too many signs saying "no bikinis".. There were no stingrays at stingray beach. Lazy people not putting their empty plastic bottles in the bins. Good points about Mathiveri; Lots of birds signing in the trees adding that tropical feel to the place. Lots of beautiful palm trees everywhere you go. Good place for sunset photographs..

The sandy beaches here are really beautiful.

The sandy beaches here are really beautiful. There is an easy access to the sandbank - depending on actual ocean current it is possible to swim there or rent a kayak. There is not so much places for snorkelling as there are not corals on the beaches. There is just one spot accessible from the Picnic island (sandbank).

Mathiveri is a wonderful little island with beautiful long...

Mathiveri is a wonderful little island with beautiful long white sandy beaches and plenty of greenery! The palm trees are just amazing. It has four great restaurants with affordable and delicious meals, a few great shops and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Also loved the sandy streets, harbour, shark view point - each part of the island has something to offer. People are nice and friendly and they all speak English.
