I loved this quiet beach town and will come again.
I loved this quiet beach town and will come again. It was the perfect place to come and relax without the crowds of Tulum or Playa del Carmen. I felt safe walking at night and in general. There are some truly excellent restaurants and one of them, Punta Corcho made me cry when I tasted their shrimp soup. It was that good! I loved swimming at the nearby cenotes, which were like an fairytale and having a fresh coconut every day was a treat! Truthfully, I was in need of a little mental and physical healing after suffering a knee injury that took too long to heal and Puerto Morelos hit the spot. Nice town with a white sand beach great for snorkelling and swimming. If you want to take a boat for snorkelling they supply all equipment and take you towards the reef, very easy to organise at the time, inexpensive too. This is a place to disconnect from your world, but a good place to connect with new people from different places. Located somewhat remote from Puerto Morelos, better rent a car to come here. And bring some groceries so you can cook on the community kitchen. Great spot for pictures, swimming in the ocean, walking in the beach a running among the mangle. Ability to use kitchen was a bonus as we could store mangos and rum there. Bikes available for guest use were old but great fun. Walkable to bars and restaurants along quiet road. Hotels further from town were less accessible.
