It's a tranquile rural area with a very nice view from all the windows. You have 2 big sleeping rooms above and a large living room downstairs. Stairs are typical Dutch - so for me no problem ;-) Toilet upstairs and downstairs, large good equiped kitchen, you can park your car in front (and then quickly hop accross the - quiet - street to meet the horses and the goats). There are the typical frysian small ditches around with waterplants, ducks and other waterbirds. You are far away from the main street and you breathe a perfect fresh rural air. Still you are close enough to the "big" city, Sneek, where you can get everything needed. The small harbour is right around the corner. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to use the boat and enjoy a trip in the beautiful surroundings (e.g. IJlst with its famous mill "De Rat" or the beautiful ancient houses surrounding the "gracht" (canal) It's a perfect stay for couples - with or without kids and I can recommend it to everyone who likes a rural natural setting.

people are friendly there and both the breakfast and dinner there are great! It's convenient to be in the centre of the town. I enjoyed the city walk alone, which is not far away from the hotel. Also, thanks for the information provided by the staff, i rented a bicycle in a very nice shop. The room is neat and clean.

My wife's father had been born and spent his early years in Sneek before emigrating to South Africa in 1946 as a young man. In his lounge at home he had a picture of the Sneek Waterpoort that my wife grew up seeing every day. The sole reason for the trip was for her to see where he had grown up, and we wanted a hotel that had a view of the iconic Waterpoort. We were not disappointed! The hotel is 50m from the poort and the room was beautiful! Contemporary furnishings, very clean, with the most magnificent view of the Waterpoort and the town from the window and the balcony. Marcel, the owner and person we communicated with, was very helpful and gave us all the access information (security codes) we needed to get into the property. He also gave us some good recommendations for dinner (De Walrus Grand Cafe- excellent!) and breakfast (Royaal Belegd - also excellent and right next door to the hotel). He sent us a text with all the above information after we had spoken. We happened to meet him the next morning at the hotel and we chatted for a bit - a lovely man. We both enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hoogend and would highly reccommend it.

This was a very lovely Bed and Breakfast. The host has gone through a great deal of effort to make sure guests are comfortable and the room was beautifully decorated. The location was excellent, very close to the centre of the old town. Breakfast was lovely. The host was very friendly.

I was there to attend an event in Sneek. The location of this B&B sas on the near outskirts of Sneek. I had a car with no trouble parking. I suppose Jutrijp is a very small village and I did not explore this village which was very rural and pastoral.
