Having personally stayed in well over 20 places all across Norway this is definitely on of, if not the best I have stayed in. The value for money is unrivaled. The location is quiet but within easy reach of restaurants and supermarkets. The fit and finishing of the apartment is excellent, it has recently been renovated and it shows! The hosts are excellent and provided clear instructions and were quick to answer questions, even on new years’ eve! I can highly recommend anyone to stay here!

Fantastic house, with a very well equipped kitchen and an amazing cabin with a barbeque/fireplace. The house is located in a great location in the middle of Lofoten Islands which is ideal if you want to have day trips around different spots. The seaview is breathtaking, especially watching the sunrise from the deck or the Northern lights above the sea at night. The ultimate bonus was seeing the dolphins from the bridge nearby on an early hike. Overall, a beautiful spot and a cozy place with very friendly hosts who were very accommodating and provided us with useful info and tips. I would definitely recommend and would go back without a second thought!

The cabin was well equipped with a well stocked kitchen and bathroom supplies. It was lovely to have 2 lounges as the one upstairs gave fabulous views when sat down and we enjoyed going out on the decking. Very peaceful and easy to park and find. We enjoyed walking up the hill opposite every day.

We absolutely adored staying in this stunning cabin - everything was perfect. The view is to die for, beds are comfortable, spacious bathroom, large kitchen with all amenities, furniture is well arranged and high quality. Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.

Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to. Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

- the flat is perfectly located : Ballstad is a charming and quiet place in the middle of Lofoten, perfect for hiking and little bit away from the crowd - the apartment is even better than the pictures, the view is amazing, all fournitures are modern. We loved watching at the mountain on the other side of the harbour - the host is helpful. He helped me on a topic not related to the flat, we really appreciated it To sum up, we loved everything about this accomodation

During these 5 days I've met a lot of different other guests in the dorm 2. they all were very open minded and friendly. it seems like this kind of hostel is atttacting very nice people:)! Also the host was super nice. He gave us some interesting information about the cultural and artsy background of this part of Ballstad and wss extremely friendly. The rorbuer itself is super cozy and creats a very comfortable atmosphere. so all in all: best place in Lofoten so far!

Very peaceful comfortable complete housing in a fisherman harbour next outside Ballstad Beautiful environment to hike (don’t forget your coat😉) or all other exercise. The host Jimmy knows All the good spots for you, like unstad surf beach with the best cinnamon rolls😋

We stayed in nr. 3. Kitchen was super well equipped and had everything you need. Had a dining room table, a small sofa and table and two beds. Surroundings are absolutely beautiful and Ballstad is a very charming place. Hotel restaurant served a good dinner.
