Great little place to stay in a quiet village. Owner was really friendly, and after a wander to the nearby joker I enjoyed a night cooling a meal in the little kitchen. Very relaxing.

It's hard to capture the experience in words, which is why writing this review is particularly tricky. But we really had a wonderful stay at the property. We were with four people, and the hosts personally welcomed us to the property and showed us around. It's a nice 2 storied house with a terrace and a stunning view over a fjord. We were a bit ravished after a day of driving (and a week of sailing preceding that), and the little snacks and fruit that the hosts left for us were particularly welcome. It felt like arriving at home to your family rather than an rental property. The whirlpool is a whole different story in itself. Prior to going to Norway I had this image of what it would be like to celebrate New Year there. And I imagine sitting in a jacuzzi, warm and cosy, while being surrounded by harsh elements and cold. This is exactly what we got to experience during our stay. But with the added benefit of again enjoying a stunning view over the fjord and the ripples an occasional wind gust left on its waters. It was nothing less than magical. The property also has a full complement of equipment for various activities, such as SUP boards (with life vests), fishing rods and barbecue. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to enjoy these, but seeing all the possibilities made me want to come back to the property and spend a few more nights there next time.

There was nothing we didn’t love about this place. Our apartment «Shipwreck» was extremely cozy, well equipped for cooking and beautifully decorated. We were warmly welcomed and provided with useful tips on hikes and things to do. Unfortunately, we had only booked one night - we would have loved to stay longer.

Stillehuset is the most wonderful and magical place in Andøya and it is well-equipped with everything you need for your vacation. The neighborhood is calm and welcoming. Synne, the host, gave us a warm welcome and was always helpful with tips for exploring the place. The pictures don’t do it justice - it’s even better in reality! I really really hope to return one day!
