The property is located on the beautiful island of Sommarøy, about an hour away from central Tromso. If you are not driving, you can call ahead to arrange transport, which is far cheaper than taking a taxi out. The staff are warm and friendly, and were happy to answer all our questions or just chat. The food (which you should book in advance for dinner on the day you are arriving) is traditional Norwegian homecooked fair and absolutely delicious. Breakfast is a simple spread and there are some options for lunch as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We made friends with the goats (there were two babies!), sheep (who were very pettable), horses, chickens, rabbits, and the cutest dog and cat. The most beautiful part of our stay? The Aurora graced us with her presence right above our heads on a beautiful clear night sky. I will never forget the sacred silence of this slice of serenity.

Dear Booking.com Customer Support Team, Good morning, I am writing to formally report a serious and concerning incident that occurred today at the property we booked through your platform. While opening the shower door during normal use, the glass shower door suddenly detached from its hinge and fell, shattering on the bathroom floor. No unusual force was applied, and the door appeared to come loose on its own. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the situation was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm. We immediately informed the landlord of the incident. I am now reporting this to Booking.com as the issue appears to be related to a maintenance or safety failure, and I believe it is important for you to be aware of the condition of the property listed on your platform. House of Ellie was fantastic. It is located at the end of a fjord so the anpartment and bedroom window looks across the fjord. We were there for almost midnight sun and Ellie set up chairs for us outside when we arrived. Spectacular views. It’s also located next to our favourite Tromso cafe. The room was very clean, extremely comfortable and had a fridge. Ellie was so helpful and very responsive to messages. We liked it so much that we’ve booked again for our return to Tromso in a few weeks.

The property is well equipped, clean, welcoming, and has everything you could want, all set in a dreamlike natural setting. The owner was extremely welcoming. He asked us frequently if we needed anything else, even though he had already provided us with everything we required. The area where the house is located is extremely favorable for viewing the Northern Lights.
