We came for nature discovery and were not disappointed.
We came for nature discovery and were not disappointed. Scenery is wonderful. Meteo was not cooperative, so the observation of the northern lights was poor. Going to the shore below the castle (an excellent location for stays) provides a good observation and photographic place for aurora. There is easily accessible trails to explore the surrounding nature. Don't forget your snowshoes in winter, absolutely necessary (relying on crampons is not enough).Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
I went for New year celebration, just for couple of days.
I went for New year celebration, just for couple of days. It was very peaceful, quiet and safe place - it was exactly what I needed as I was very stressed from living in busy London, UK. I managed to catch good, decent size cod and other fish just from the piers near the Eurospar shop. The view to the fjord is beautiful and I climbed up the road to the hill to Lynden (15min) to watch there beautiful Northern lights (the Aurora Borealis) in some of the dark spots behind those houses where the pine-trees area starts. There is also a small cycling path at the front part of Lyngen, on the hill up, like a "small terrace" which is dark and provides you with perfect view over the fjiords, most of the night sky...It was amazing as I had very good luck to watch them for 2h30min almost non-stop. My partner and I had very good luck with clear sky at that night. I strongly reccomend: the best hours to watch it are usually 19:00pm- 22:30pm.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Lyngseidet is a great location to stay.
Lyngseidet is a great location to stay. It's a quiet town but its central location allows it to be a base for hiking trips. Lake Blaisvatnet and Steindalsbreen are just about 30 minutes away. Lyngenstrappa is at the town itself and 20mins away is a beautiful village of Koppangan. You can also view Aurora too.Guest review byYklee58Malaysia

Big Windows in the living room allow for watching the northern lights even without leaving the warm inside. Perfect for hiking or skiing in winter. Only one Restaurant nearby, but we knew this before and bought everything we needed to Cook. We had a wonderful stay and got to watch some amazing northern lights over the fjord. If you stay here, I recommend you visit the Aurora Distillery. Its the northernmost Distillery in the World.Guest review byEvaGermany

When we arrived we were asked for the dinner which we decided to take and felt so happy for our decision. The hotel is located in a very good location and everything you need is in a close area. We will also not forget here because we could see the northern lights from the region. There are many activities also that you can arrange from the hotel. Lyngseidet and Lyngen Alps have all you need: amazing nature, mountains, fjords, waterfalls,.. and so lots of opportunities for hiking, skiing, langlauf, mountainbike, fishing,.. and you can get info about all that @ MML itself.
