Our experience at the Fjærland Fjordstove Hotel was lovely. The quiet village, beautifully restored and maintained hotel, wonderful staff, exceptional dining and the views to knock your socks off! It was our 20th anniversary and it was a magical time. In reading other reviews there is the mention of the high cost of the accommodation and food and we agree but the cost was easily understandable as the Fjaerland reaches for the highest quality for its guests. So, it is our recommendation to get past the cost and you will not be disappointed:)

Amazing location, under the glacier, near the fjord. We were staying in the hotel, but when we saw the cabins, we were sorry we did not book rather one of canin-they are very Nice! Room was comfortable, especially bed, and warm. We had the access to fully equiped kitchen all the time. Short distance away, 10 mins walk, you can access great Sauna or walk to the fjord.

Rødseter Gjestegård is a working farm, peacefully located in the countryside of Fjarland and offers views of the impressive, surrounding mountains.

Absolutely everything about our visit here was perfect in every way. It's an utterly stunning setting within walking or short driving distance of the most gorgeous overlook for a dramatic glacier/waterfall/creek .. We were lucky enough to catch the glacier calving twice in our brief visit which is always super cool to experience. The accommodation itself is incredibly charming and beautifully maintained on a sweet little farm style homestead that has been in the same family for centuries.. They have done an extraordinary job at renovating it to where it is modern and comfortable, yet retains all of the historic charm and architecture as well, which is not an easy balance to attain. The family that runs it (mother/father/son and even grandma who bakes homemade yummies for breakfast) are the nicest, warmest people .. They offer a dinner option which I highly recommend opting into that is served family style in the dining room and was wonderful .. Absolutely loved our visit and can't recommend it enough .. There's also a glacier museum about a ten minute drive away that is worth a stop on the front or back side if you are so inclined .. Definitely don't hesitate to book here as it was one of our favorite accommodations in our 2.5 week road trip through Norway and that's saying a lot since Norway overall has some really awesome options accommodation wise and value for dollar at this one is extremely high as well. 🥰😍

First, its location is fantastic by sitting right at the entrance of the Briksdalsbre trail. For nature lover it's unbeatable with sights of glacier, waterfall, forest and mountain. The cabin we stayed at bodes well with the environment, with all the modern comforts needed, like bedroom, kitchen, sitting room, cooking facilities, etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money too.

The Hotel was beautiful and surrounded by the best nature Norway have to offer. The new owner is super nice and really made us feel welcome. The food, the ambiance and the lovely staff made our visit memorable. I will be back in the futur!

The view and the staff were amazing… I was blown away when the chef came out and personally informed me about the dishes that were to be prepared and served for dinner! He even recommended the different wines that pair nicely with each dish. It was a very intimate and comfortable place to stay. Made to feel very special!
