Lou is such a great host. she has such a great care for her place and makes whatever is possible to make her guests enjoy their stay. WOW! Absolutely gorgeous! This cute cottage was the perfect place to relax after a 20km hike, fabulous strong hot shower, spa bath, super comfy bed. It was an immaculately clean cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. The decor made it feel so welcoming and cozy. Communication with the hosts was efficient and friendly. Walking through the Kauri at Long Bay. Driving Creek railway, Waterworks - been to both before but they didn't disappoint - even with teens! Also great experience, food, service and prices at the pub and Taco food van.

The town itself is small and friendly, but my main reason...

The town itself is small and friendly, but my main reason for being there was to explore the local landscapes, which were gorgeous, and the Driving Creek Railway, which was extraordinary, and really not-to-be missed if you're in the area. The story of how it was built over many decades through the dedication and drive of one man was deeply moving and inspiring. The trip to the top was unforgettable. I'd definitely do it all again if I had the chance!

Great cafes, really friendly community. Great selection of shops so if you needed something you could get it there. Saturday market for fresh produce was great. Lots of activities from fishing and beaches to walks, found a great museum.

Coromandel was the nicest place we visited on the Coromandel...

Coromandel was the nicest place we visited on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is a charming and unspoiled historic town. There are some good restaurants there too. We recommend the Star and Garter Hotel and the Turkish restaurant was great.

Beautifully decorated and appointed space resulting in a really relaxed vibe. Linens were top notch, bed comfortable, and bathroom lovely. The view from the deck is stunning. We were lucky to have great weather and enjoyed breakfast as well as afternoon wine outside on the deck. Bird song is lovely to listen to. We enjoyed being able to walk into town. Coromandel Town is very nice and unharmed from the cyclone. The roads were fine during our stay except 25A which did not affect our activities. Would highly recommend!

It's such a stunning layout making the most of the surrounding bush. The Hide Away was perfect for our little family with all the facilities we could ask for. We were right next to the kitchen which was great for cooking our own meals with an amazing cooker. The location was fantastic for the Driving Creek and the Coromandel Township. Hugh and Buff were awesome hosts.
