what happened to lower hutt - i grew up there that town was a buzzing hive of activity when i left 20 years ago i come back and the town looks dirty, old and empty. there is no life there! We left straight away and did not stay.
We left straight away and did not stay. The driveway was completely dangerous, we got stuck half way up and had to walk back down to the bottom to find help. There was no way we could have been able to come and go as needed. The house was also freezing. We contacted to say it was dangerous and unsuitable and would be leaving straight away and got a notification the message had been read but received no reply.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We spent most of our time in Petone and also travelled by...
We spent most of our time in Petone and also travelled by bus into Wellington City. We did not visit Lower Hutt central at all so we are not qualified to give an opinion on this. The bus trip into Wellington City was convenient as the bus stopped on the main street of Petone. Petone itself, has an interesting range of shops and restaurants. Good to have bathrooms for each bedroom, plenty of spare toilet paper. Great to have supplies for the washing machine and dishwasher. Washer dryer was a big plus.
