Paraparaumu is part of the Kapiti Coast.

Paraparaumu is part of the Kapiti Coast. The beach is great for walking and beachcombing, not sure about swimming though. You can catch a boat over to Kapiti Island which is a bird sanctuary. Just a bit inland is the Coastland Shopping centre, with a good shopping mall and eateries, and also a couple of supermarkets, useful when self catering. Beyond the front, it is more of a residential town, but there is a railway station, were you can get the train to Wellington, takes about an hour, great for a day out. Also, easy access to State Highway 1, with lots of places to visit .

There is no Uber, only their local Taxi, which makes getting around without a car quite difficult They do have a lot of Beaches and Reserves close by, and when I stayed at the White House up the hill, I had an epic view with the best Sunset.

A stunning location.

A stunning location. We only stumbled across it and will definitely recommended the area to others. Has a lots to offer visitors, including a great shopping area. Our host recommended eating at the Fishermens Table restaurant. We really enjoyed our meal there. The staff were excellent and we loved the beach view.

They were lovely to us.

They were lovely to us. We were asked what we would like for breakfast and were given a freshly cooked breakfast. Very friendly owner who was happy to help in any way. Very clean, comfortable, balcony off our room overlooking the beautiful views of the coastline. Would have liked to stay longer if our schedule allowed it.

The hosts were exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and thoughtful. The guest suite was tidy and clean. Bed was VERY comfortable, and being able to spend some time relaxing in the hot tub was the cherry on top! We didn't use the carpark, but there is one available. The property is a brisk walk away from the main road where the bus stops are, and a supermarket is also not far away. Overall, it was just a really lovely and stress-free stay that really complemented our trip to beautiful Paraparaumu. Would definitely stay here again :)

I booked this property for my elderly parents who had a medical appointment in Paraparaumu. They were so happy with the accomodation and said it was so much nicer than staying in a motel. In particular they: Loved the friendliness of the hosts. Easy to connect with via phone. Everything about the cottage was beautifully presented and comfortable. Enjoyed watching the tuis feed. Appreciated the extra time the hosts allowed them due to not having people before or after them - it was a mid-week stay.
