We LOVED the Salty Dog Inn. What a wonderful surprise. Snells Beach is a hidden treasure even in the rain. I booked it for one night on our way from Rotorua to Paihia. I wish we had made this more than in interim stopover. The room was wonderful. The restaurant food delightful. The staff was excellent. And did I mention the great WIFI? You can not go wrong staying here!

Clean bright great location parking spot good wifi. The place has been stocked out well with a kitchen dishwasher coffee machine etc all clean and new. The supermarket is 2 mins walk as are the couple of pubs and restaurants. Lots to do in the area

Really cute stay in a couples house. The rooms are cute and cozy with everything you need like cozy robes etc. i can totally recommend staying here on the way up north or coming back to Auckland

I used Snells Beach as a base for birdwatching in the area, including a boat trip to Kawau Island from Sandspit (10 mins drive away) and visits to Tawharanui Regional Park (30 mins drive away). It was perfectly placed for those, and I would recommend it to anyone making similar plans.

Visited in September before the mad summer crowds which I'm sure will fill the place up. It was a beautiful quiet space where you could easily have relaxed and enjoyed the sun and peacefulness. Went for a walk and loved the fairy houses set up under the trees - a great treasure for children of all ages. There is no surf here and would be a super safe space for children to swim. We had brunch at the Crimson Coast Cafe which was lovely with great service, Stayed for the night at the Salty Dog Inn which was comfortable and ate dinner at the pub there which was good pub style food.

There is now a good selection of cafes and shops at Snells Beach. Crimson Coast Cafe and Little and Local are both outstanding for eating in. PizzaDon is good for takeaways. 4 Square supermarket is also very good, even has fresh sandwiches.

Worst experience of my life, Jo is racist and terrible...

Worst experience of my life, Jo is racist and terrible terrible host . She turned our power off for whole 1 hour. We thought it’s black out but other rooms had power. Toilet seat has piss stain and hot plate was so old it was rusted and button wasn’t even there. It also had hair on the bed. Place is too small and cramped. I would never recommend anyone to this terrible place.

Friendly area. Good variety of eateries near by. Lots of places close by to visit. We enjoyed Cruise tonKawau island. Matakana and Warkworth. Visited chocolate company. Delicious chocolates. Little and Local in the nearby shopping area served a good evening meal. Guinness bar in Salty Dog was relaxed , good food and friendly vive

It is very beautiful, new renovated and tidy place with very friendly staff on the side. I was with my mum who having mobility problem and we have been provided perfect room for her and let us to stay longer for late checkout. I highly recommend this place!it is 5stars of 5!

This motel styled after Old English hotels is attractive and very roomy, with every possible drawer, and hook we could need. Plus the bed was very comfortable. and huge king size. A Bonus was the back door opening onto a lawn and garden and as it was hot summer weather we could open that as well as the double doors in the front for a lovely breeze. Another bonus is of course the old style English pub and restaurant on the property with reasonable prices and a good menu.. a short walk to shops and downstairs units.

Snells Beach Motel was the perfect place to stay with my young grandchildren when we were visiting relatives in beautiful Snells Beach. The 2 bedroom unit was very comfortable with plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. It may be an older building, but it was exceptionally clean and had everything you could want in the kitchen. My grandson loved the hot chocolate sachets! We were also fortunate that our unit had views of Snells Beach from the verandah and bedrooms. Definitely recommend this motel.

We had a great stay. The accommodation was neat and well-maintained, with modern facilities that made our stay really comfortable. The coffee machine was a fantastic bonus. The area was peaceful, offering a relaxing environment. We also loved the location—just a short drive to Omaha and within walking distance to Snells Beach, which was perfect for exploring. Hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Nice big two room apartment. Only here for one night. Nice and warm, comfortable beds. Soft linen and fluffy towels. Good location near snells beach, the pub was close enough but not noisy. Good food and drink. Also close to matakana for all the wineries and famous market (get a bacon sandwich and coffee - delicious!) Lovely staff. Pet friendly too which was a huge bonus for us

When travelling to visit family in Snells Beach we always stay here. Great location close to beach and shops just across the road, other amenities very close and not far from Warkworth if you need many other stores. Staff have always been awesome clean tidy and comfy beds in rooms that are always a welcome to a traveler.
