We felt welcomed. The parking was easy. The apartment had everything we needed except for washer. It was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The location has very nice surroundings. It is however not in the town centre which for us was an advantage.

A really lovely place, so comfortable and an ideal location for Tongario Alpine Crossing. The hosts were amazing, super friendly and gave great advice on the crossing and weather conditions. The hot tub out the back is the cherry on top! We stayed in a lot of places travelling through New Zealand and this one was our favourite! I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone!

This is a huge vacation rental. Three bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds). Lots of room for clothes. Very large living/dining area with couch, armchairs, TV, dining table. Full size well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. Big bathroom. Access to hot tub, barbecue and outdoor pizza oven. Washing machine and dryer. Quiet street but close to shops and services. Very convenient for Tongariro National Park or fishing. Your hosts Beth and Don are friendly and helpful, and know the local area very well. Would be great for a family vacation.

Spacious with 4 bedroom with heated beds - perfect for winter. Homely and clean, with excellent water pressure for bathing. The fireplace was amazing, with plenty of firewood available in the woodshed. We were welcomed by the personalised message at the door, which was a lovely touch. The house also includes a washing machine and dryer, and a helpful guest booklet with an introduction to their home and nearby attractions. Not forgetting an interesting garden with self grown plants. Thank you for having us!

Hot thermal heated pool outside our door! Excellent location in small township, quiet, walk to free DOC thermal walk and short drive to lake. Spotlessly clean!!! 10 stars for cleanliness. The new beds were excellent. The family unit had a lot of room Note: The Tokaanu Hotel is an older establishment, but it is in the process of an upgrade, and the price absolutely reflects this. We would absolutely stay again.

Spacious unit. Fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Bath with shower above but L- shaped grab rail for accessibility. More like a motel than a hotel. Swimming pool. They are renovating what has been a quality hotel in past years. The sign at the moment doesn't say Tokaanu Hotel, but the street number is correct. This is being renewed soon.

We started on the back foot as the hotel had been rebranded with a new name so we didn’t know whether we were in the right place. Place was clean and great value with a comfortable bed and a pool outside.

It was a nostalgic visit, as I had worked there many moons ago, when it was still the Tourist Hotel Corporation and in private management as well.
