Hot thermal heated pool outside our door! Excellent location in small township, quiet, walk to free DOC thermal walk and short drive to lake. Spotlessly clean!!! 10 stars for cleanliness. The new beds were excellent. The family unit had a lot of room Note: The Tokaanu Hotel is an older establishment, but it is in the process of an upgrade, and the price absolutely reflects this. We would absolutely stay again.

Creel Lodge is different from the usual motel in its layout. The grounds are really beautiful with lots of plants and lawns. In addition at the back of the property there is a gate leading down to the river path. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Riverstone Lodge! The lodge was extremely clean, the rooms were sizeable and comfy, and the lodge itself was super cozy. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want - coffee, french press, dishes, oven, microwave, etc. There were tons of games in the common room. The check in and check out process was super easy. The lodge is walking distance to a number of restaurants. Everything was great! We wished we could have stayed longer.

Wow! What an amazing stay. Every single detail is thought through. The bed is comfortable, the hot tub delightful, the cat and the dog we met were charming. Everything you need for breakfast and a lot of little thoughtful touches. One of the best places we stayed at! 🥰

Loved the easy check in process, room was compact but very comfortable and great value for money. If we were staying several days I would choose a bigger room option but for overnight it was perfect. The room was pretty quiet too which made for a blissful sleep. The owners have done a lot of new planting and the property is looking beautiful. Large courtyard to maneuver our trailer in too.

This is a huge vacation rental. Three bedrooms (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 single beds). Lots of room for clothes. Very large living/dining area with couch, armchairs, TV, dining table. Full size well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. Big bathroom. Access to hot tub, barbecue and outdoor pizza oven. Washing machine and dryer. Quiet street but close to shops and services. Very convenient for Tongariro National Park or fishing. Your hosts Beth and Don are friendly and helpful, and know the local area very well. Would be great for a family vacation.

Spacious unit. Fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Bath with shower above but L- shaped grab rail for accessibility. More like a motel than a hotel. Swimming pool. They are renovating what has been a quality hotel in past years. The sign at the moment doesn't say Tokaanu Hotel, but the street number is correct. This is being renewed soon.

We started on the back foot as the hotel had been rebranded with a new name so we didn’t know whether we were in the right place. Place was clean and great value with a comfortable bed and a pool outside.

It was a nostalgic visit, as I had worked there many moons ago, when it was still the Tourist Hotel Corporation and in private management as well.
